KP injects money into police to fight terrorists better

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has announced a raise in the salaries of the provincial police. The chief minister said he is proud of provincial police, as hundreds of policemen have sacrificed their lives for the security of the people, and they remain steadfast. He announced incentives and measures for improvement in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. The chief minister affirmed that recruitments in the police department would be done on merit. He said that all the police system will be computerised. Chief Minister Khattak said that to make patrolling and vigilance better, Rs 50 million have released for the purchase of sniffer dogs. He stressed upon making model police stations and asked policemen to serve the masses well. Khattak showed concern over lack of investor interest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. About the Taliban issue, he repeated his party’s stance of achieving peace through dialogue. The chief minister said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has turned into a fighting force, as its jawans were fighting militancy like the army despite the fact combating terrorism was not their job. The police jawans, he said, are offering sacrifices to maintain public order. “We are now close to peace due to their sacrifices,” he noted. “The KP Police has proved today that it has the worth to fight out terrorism from the province,” Khattak said.
