It could. ATGM can easily pierce a ship's hull. If it hits an arms storage or a fuel storage then boom that sets off a chain reaction that can blow a carrier sky high.

For that usage armed forces use anti ship missiles and aircraft carriers are so armoured and anti ship missiles even can't sunk that in one attack

Thats for small ships mainly some incoming suicide vessel ... but it has little to no effectiveness against AC
