Kirkuk's jubilant Kurds fill polling stations for independence vote

No,the question was, ''Do you only care for the zionist Jews or all Jews?''.
See,unlike you,i asked about your people and not others.
But the question to you was land vs. people, not people vs. people.

Who won?
Who reported?

What kind of irrelevant referendum was that?

Why is this not a UN issue?

Was it like a Twitter referendum?

- Peshmerga forces forced non-Kurds to vote at the gun point.
- 200 Arab families thrown out of Kerkük and exiled to Diyala after refusing to vote.
- Kurdish voters paraded in Kirkuk with guns after voting.

Meanwhile, prime minister said, "If a bloodshed happens against Turkmens in Kirkuk we will intervine at the instant.

Thanks to all of my Kurdish brothers and sisters from the bottom of my heart!!! You had always been the greatest supporter of the Osmanli Saltanat!!! Bitlisli Idris, the Kurdish leader, accepted Yavuz Sultan Selim without firing a single shot, and you were the vanguards in protecting the Hilafet and Saltanat with blood, sweat and intellect!!! You have produced great warriors, Ulema and Evliya incessantly, and, thereby are the valves of the Muslim heartlands!! If Kurdistan is at peace, the heartland is at peace, and vice versa!!!! Even when the Turkish folks faltered you didn't!!! The likes of Sheyh Sait (RA), Ustad Bediuzzaman (RA) etc. were in the forefronts to rekindle the Nur of Islam in Turkey!!! With all their prestige and influence they wanted nothing for themselves but wanted to strengthen the Ottomans, and then Turkey, throughout their lives!!! Insha'Allah the entire Northern Irak, and along with it 90% of Kurdistan, will reclaim their rightful place under the Ay-Yildiz (Crescent and Star), their true home of Emniyet of Jan, Mal & Namus, in no time at all!!! Congratulations to you all in advance for you have foiled the plans of Iblis and his cohorts once again!!! La Galibe Illallah....

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Monday that Turkey considers the independence referendum in northern Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) null and void and illegitimate regardless of its results, adding that there may be economic and military repercussions.

Speaking at a forum in Istanbul, Erdoğan stated that the Habur border gate with Iraq, which serves as the KRG's main gateway to the world, is only open for Turkey-bound traffic, and signaled that it could be totally closed in the future.

Erdoğan also warned that Turkey could block the KRG's oil exports. "We'll see who KRG will sell its oil to, Turkey is in control of the valve," he said, referring to the Kirkuk - Ceyhan oil pipeline that connects oil fields in northern Iraq to the oil terminal in the Mediterranean.

Oil revenues are of crucial importance for the KRG's economy, which is suffering from a high rate of unemployment.

Erdoğan noted that Turkey would not hesitate to use force if necessary, saying "Just as we've liberated Jarablus, al-Rai, and al-Bab from Daesh in Syria, if need be we won't shy away from such steps in Iraq."

"We may come there overnight all of a sudden," he said sternly.

Last week the Turkish Armed Forces began a military drill in the region around the border town of Silopi including 100 military vehicles, which continued with reinforcements this weekend.

"We are taking and will take all the steps on political, economic, trade and security fronts. The armed forces did not take necessary steps in Silopi for no reason. There is no compromise," Erdoğan promised.

The Turkish parliament on Saturday approved overwhelmingly a one-year extension of a mandate to use troops abroad in Syria and Iraq.

Monday's non-binding referendum will see voters in northern Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG)-held areas, including areas disputed between Irbil and Baghdad such as oil-rich Kirkuk, vote on seceding from Iraq.

Baghdad, Turkey, Iran, the U.S., and the UN have all spoken out against the poll, saying it will only distract from the ongoing fight against Daesh and further destabilize the region.

Iraq's central government has threatened to intervene militarily if the vote leads to violence.

KRG President Massoud Barzani has said a "Yes" win would not result in an automatic declaration of independence but would simply lead to further negotiations with Baghdad.

The sixteenth-century Dutch were called Geuzen (beggars) by their despotic Spanish monarch. The Dutch adopted the label as their own during their hard-won eighty-year struggle for independence from Spain.

You are seriously comparing a war of independence in the 16th century with vastly different tech levels and general tactics between 2 European powers with a war between a band of tribal militias and 3 vastly larger, better-equipped Nations one of which is a NATO member?

Are you screwing with me, right now? If you seriously believe that the Kurds can put up a fight when it's obvious no super-powers will back them then you are downright insane.

They act like this now, the moment some military force attacks them they will cry and call it Saddamist style behavior from Iraqis or genocidal Turks. Maybe I am biased but these Kurds seem to be extremely racist towards non-Kurds trying to 'make up' for their lack of statehood in the region.

Netanyahu said something supportive of Kurdish independence but if he said something supporting this referendum then I missed it. Links, please.

For the same reason U.S. opposed the break-up of the Soviet Union: because it might bring "instability". Both failures of imagination and ideals by the State Department.

Democratic legitimacy doesn't come from foreign diplomats and there is no record today of Arabs and Turkmen being "murdered and displaced."

Links, please.

Do you also think that in 1971 West Pakistan should have accepted being ruled by Bengalis?
If Mujibur Rehman won the election fair and square, then I wouldn't mind being ruled by a Bengali.

Well the Kurdish referendum is their internal affairs, so I cannot say much.

I doubt superpowers can do much to stop Iran + Turkey from taking over kurdshitistan.

We are over 160 million combined with very big armies and a lot of weapons.

Unless USA, Russia or China uses nukes to stop us there is no way they can stop Turkey + Iran on the ground, the losses would be too much for them they would go bankrupt as well.

Reality is Russia will side with Iran so will Assad in Syria.

Iraq will be on our side.

Only powers against us will most likely be west led by USA and Israel.

What will happen depends on the will power of Turkey and Iran. (our politicians)

We could remove the superpowers from the middle east and end their games for good if we wanted to, we would probably end up being sanctioned and ruin our economy in the progress, but it would be worth it in the long term.

But reality is that politicians love money, they put their own EGO's and wallets before the people, so we will most likely sit here and do nothing.

And in less than 50 years our children will see a breakup of our nations because we TODAY did nothing to stop kurdshitistan.

I really hate politicians, they don't represent the will of the people at all.

I've been reading comments on many turkish news websites and I know at least 90% would support invasion of kurdshitistan NOW. But politicians will just sit there thinking about how they can make money!

And what does opening this thread have to do with US or Israeli interest,Zero, nada, niente, nothing, right?

US doesn't want this referendum. For the first time after years of advancing ISIS & various other terrorist organizations are in retreat.

Iran has closed the border so has Turkey restricting supplies from northern and eastern routes. Iraq isn't going to supply Kurdish Peshmerga forces.

Who won?
Who reported?

Results are expected at 8:00 pm on 9/26/2017
