Custodian of the Two Mosques King Abdullah King Abdullah. (Reuters)

JEDDAH: ARAB NEWS

Custodian of the Two Mosques King Abdullah King Abdullah said Friday that world silence over Israeli war crimes in the Gaza was inexcusable.
“We see the blood of our brothers in Palestine being shed in collective massacres that have spared nobody,” the king said in a speech carried by the Saudi Press Agency. “(These are) war crimes against humanity.”
He said it was all taking place under the eyes and ears of the international community that has stood indifferently watching events in the whole region.
“The international community is watching silently with all its institutions and organizations, including human rights organizations. This community is silently observing what is happening in the whole region and is indifferent to what is happening, as if what is happening doesn’t concern it,” said King Abdullah. “This silence has no justification.”
The king said such atrocities can only breed more violence. “Is (the international community) not aware that this will lead to the emergence of a generation that believes only in violence, rejecting peace and believing in the clash and not dialogue of civilizations?” said the king.
King Abdullah urged Muslim leaders and scholars to stand up to those who are trying to hijack Islam.
“From the cradle of revelation and the birthplace of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), I call on leaders and scholars of the Islamic nation to carry out their duty toward Allah Almighty and stand in the face of those trying to hijack Islam and presenting it to the world as a religion of extremism, hatred, and terrorism,” he said. “Say the word of truth and (do) not fear anybody as our nation today passes a critical, historic stage, and history will be a witness against those who have been the tool exploited by the enemies to disperse and tear the nation, and tarnish the pure image of Islam.”He said: “This trial (discord) which has found a fertile ground in our Arab and Islamic worlds and which has been given every facility by those biased and haters of our nation to the degree that it has been deluded to think that it has gained strength, spreading terrorism and corruption in the world.”
He said it was shameful and disgraceful that the terrorists were doing this in the name of religion. “They are killing (those) whose killing Almighty Allah has forbidden, and mutilating their bodies and feeling proud in publishing this. They have distorted the image of Islam by their actions and crimes making all those who do not know the reality of Islam think that what comes out of these traitors expresses the message of the Prophet of Mercy (peace be upon him), about whom Allah Almighty said, ‘And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.’“
King Abdullah reminded the world about the Kingdom’s call for the creation of a global counterterrorism center in Riyadh and his disappointment at the lack of serious response from the outside world.
“We called for the creation of the International Center for Counter-terrorism 10 years ago. The proposal was supported by the entire world at the time. The aim has been to coordinate among the states, but we were disappointed afterward because of the lack of serious interaction by the international community,” said King Abdullah. “Today, we say to those who fail to carry out their historic responsibilities against terrorism for temporary interests or suspicious schemes that they will be its first victims tomorrow as if they have not benefited from the experience of the recent past which did not spare anyone.”

Too little too late my man.

What do you mean mate? KSA already condemned Israeli the first day that they started bombing Gaza. So did most of the Muslim world.

The point is that the only realistic solution right now is diplomacy as no Muslim country will attack a nuclear state like Israel that is fully backed by the world's biggest superpower (USA) and the entire West.

Moreover KSA is a major player in the Islamic world and the cradle of Islam and thus King Abdullah has a lot of influence.

Anyway the speech is not only about Israel or Gaza. The message is a wise and correct one.

We all know that the Muslim world is in great turmoil right now and that we are all to blame for that in some way or another. What is needed is turning this unfortunate turn of events into something more fruitful and I think that messages such as those (could be said by any Muslim or even non-Muslim) is a very small but nevertheless a good and healthy step.

I am also making this thread (aside from the ones that others made about donations from KSA to Gaza and diplomatic support and harsh criticism and condemnation of Israel) as there are certain trolls on this forum who think that KSA is somehow supporting Israel which is not only ridiculously but also offensive knowing the central role of KSA in regards to the Palestine question. Long before King Faisal etc. and long before Israel was created even.

.
It's not that KSA is pro-Israel or something...they certainly are indifferent to them though.

Currently, Hamas and co. are a threat to KSA according to the Saudi foreign policy...and this view is shared by Egypt and Jordan as well....therefore the lack of support for Gaza as any sort of help flowing in will end up in the hands of Hamas.

Yet despite that KSA has been the main donors to Gaza and we know that those donations will reach Hamas in Gaza as they are the ones controlling Hamas. Moreover we also know that private Saudi Arabian citizens are leading when it comes to more covert support for Hamas likewise 95% of all Saudi Arabians (recent polls) support armed resistance against Israel and support Hamas' stand.

Hamas is not a threat to KSA nor are they even the MB. They are an political organization solely confined to Gaza that is also an armed resistance. I have never heard anything negative about Hamas in the Saudi Arabian media.

On the other hand I have seen thousands upon thousands of Saudi Arabians on social media using the Hamas logo as their avatar.

Besides who cares about Hamas or any other political group when it's all about fellow Muslims and Arabs that are killed by the Zionists?

My man KSA is the regional suber bower. The only one that can dictate the terms to Israel about the rules of engagement, rest i did not read.

I wish words have some power to change things ...

This goes for the entire Muslim world (nobody is doing anything militarily) yet the Muslim world is not in a position to do so aside from being in turmoil by large. The only realistic solution is a diplomatic one and a boycott of Israel.

I am afraid that the country that dares to attack Israel in an all-out war (that's the only thing that will change the situation on the ground) is going to regret it.
Hence why nobody has been doing anything on that front for DECADES. Not just for the past month.

As of now we have only seen words from ALL Muslim leaders. I can't blame them.

This is not a computer game. If the Arab street had such decision making and power Israel would not exist. Yet this is not the case obviously.

I believe that Saudi Arabia is an Israeli ally in closet, whereas it should be us that should be an Israel ally, not them.
As for Hamas, while I feel sorry for the Palestinians (I believe that Arab countries must accept Gazans into their counties and give them citizenship, and Israel must facilitate that), but I can't say the same for Hamas; Hamas is a backstabbing terrorist organization that must shoulder the responsibility for what's happening in Gaza.

Of course an Iranian turned up to troll and make baseless assumptions. It's getting tiring. Man, what a great ally of Israel that is donating more to the Palestinian case than anyone else (money that mostly goes straight to Hamas' pocket) and supposedly founds THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of mosques in the world that preach so-called anti-Semitic feelings.

People should make up their mind. It's getting ridiculous.

The palestinians a threat? So why Saudi create zionist Al Qaeda?

Why the wahabit preachers call for Jihad in Syria and not in Palestine?

Well at least the old man has woken up.

I am not sure if you know this but KSA already condemned Israel 1 month ago. The first day the Israeli offensive started. So no, it's not anything new in this regard.

King Abdullah ordered huge donations weeks ago. Users here even made threads on PDF for that news.

KSA have donated more to Gaza in the past 1 month than anyone else.

In KSA in almost every mosque there are donations for Gaza. I just returned back so I can confirm this. Ordinary people are donating big sums of money. Rich and poor.

Wether Hamas is a backstabbing organization or not i am fully supporting them against the Zionist madness. They are helpless against the modern Zionist warmachine.

Also, give credit where its due. The only group in the entire world beside Hezbollah that has managed to kill Israeli soldiers and directly attack the soil of Israel is Hamas. Also Where are those lunatic groups such as ISIS, Al Nusra etc ? where are they to help their fellow Muslims against a country who is a sworn enemy of millions of muslims ? they are the creation of Telaviv to split muslims.
