As I pointed earlier, environment and safety conscious Denmark is building many garbage burning plants in upscale communities of doctors and lawyers. If it was such a serious hazard, Danes would be the last to embrace such plants.

As to the investment required in garbage collection and plant building, it'll prove to be a lot less than the cost of noisy and polluting private diesel generators being used in a lot of communities in Karachi. A community based solution will also obviate dependence on the incompetent and corrupt government to supply electricity.

Sir, Pakistan is on down hill tragectory other wise similar proposal was submitted to Shahbaz Sharif for Lahore city by a private company in 1997-98 perhpas. Even the locations were proposed, i remember one location was city dump along bund road.
Alas we cannot expect any vision from our politicians, who become king without any qualification and start playing with state institutions until those are completely destroyed.

Personally, I support garbage as energy source as it takes care of waste, the way they do it in Denmark they seperate waste in various catagories at home and than bio waste is used for bio gas and recyclable waste goes for recycling and eventual garbage is mere plastic/paper bags, packings, juice/milk boxes some old rugs and baby pampers to least. collection of garbage is charged according to their volume to individual houses.
Our garbage is different to begin with..... and we have no rules where as denmark has defined standards and rules to follow.

Now as you mentioned technology...which has advanced way beyond the imagination of our vision less politicians and their siblings.
Hydrogen is being used as source of energy! we have Fuelcells, solar products, wind energy, small water turbines and combination of all these technologies.

Non matters because as i said Pakistan dynamics is based on corruption fueled by IMF and WB. Politicians are happy they earn money, media anchor person are happy they get money, enimies of Pakistan are happy they jump in to hijack the situation, WB is happy they earn money who care about common Pakistani and Pakistan.

Do you not know that govt. of Paklistan discourage all local developments and inventions in this regard! there were many bright youngsters who claimed to have solution to produce energy from water source (hydrogen) but no media is allowed to highlihgt such cheating.
i have many solutions based on community base energy conservation and generation solution but those are most efficient when govt. borrow or buy back surplus energy otherwise investment cost goes up, and in any case such projects need huge capital investments.

New development is that all Pakistani research papers will go abroad and all our university research will be leaked to indians. enjoy DEMOCRAZY of Sharif and Zardari.

What I have suggested bypasses the politician and puts it in the hands of the communities.

Sir, with politicians if you meant govt. than there is no by pass.
In Pakistan people are already building private housing societies without govt. help/support.
All land bought on market value, all development privately sponsored even the access roads and bridges are built at personal expense, which later are used by govt. and all public. All running expenses of those communities like cleaning, water, sweage, mosque, parks etc. are taken care of privately and with zero assistance from govt. but still govt. charge property tax!
Point is govt. will impose unfair taxes once you import hardware even after paying unjustified import duties.
Community based power generation will not only be cheaper but will be a win win situation for govt. but this will also cut the taxes income of govt. which also means less corruption, which is not desired by IMF and WB.
I have already heard that govt. is mulling to impose taxes on private/community based power generation.
Our govt. is controlled mostly by convicted bunch, who had served in jails for corruption and anti state activitites!
We have people as ministers who have been known for target killing and using police to kill their political opponents.
Pakistan stand no chance for growth, all what govt. is good for is to make more Bangladesh out of Present Pakistan.
Investment having recovery time of 15-20 years is seems quite impossible.
Our problems are not limited to power generation... community based airports and airlines will be much cheaper and safe so shall we start buying private jets to bypass PIA?

We need to build a common pressure group to negotiate fair agreements with govt. before start investing voluntarily.

As expected President of Pakistan is not bothered but I found followign statement from former President on this burning issue.
It is important that we understand what is the real issue behind sudden shortage of power, despite falling growth and increased private power generation.

All i intend to tell is that current power shortage is engineered and is directed by IMF and WB owned by bunch of people.
They need money from your pockets as they pay high kickbacks/political favors to the criminals in Pakistan.
