Khyber Pakhtunkhwa armours police vehicles

Improvised armour is a good strategy keeping in mind that with it's limited cost most if not all petrol vehicles will be modified for greater protection. That in addition to APCs being acquired by KPK police will give added protection to the police force. The only problem that may occur would be maintenance issues that might arise due to added weight for suspensions, brakes, etc. If too much armour is added.

Moral booster....nice!

What happened when you got a 5.56mm or 7.62mm NATO round in your steel helmet during the Vietnam war?

1: Most likely if the bullet hits, head on, it would penetrate through that helmet, drilling its way out of your brain, ejecting from the back.

2: Bullet hits your head from the side, deflects, doesn't penetrate but that too might kill you as the inward dent would be enough to crack your skull structure, or at best you'll get away with a bleeding face.

Not an ideal, win, win situation either way, than why did all Vietnam war American soldiers wear helmets?

Its to do with morale, the feeling of knowing that the state actually does pay heed to your safety!

Army use them on their regular vehicles but you won't see their APCs having just the armor platting.....in KPK you're not expected to run into some street thug who has at best a pistol to fire. A high caliber or an AP round fired from a heavy weapon would pin straight inside such armor.

If you want to bash PTI govt, at least do so in a department you know about.

As Aero has said, you are talking about B-7 protection.

A high caliber or AP round will pierce through an M113 as well (Lyari op).

Most of the target killings and police encounters by the Police are done with Ak's and other small arms, mostly 7.62 or 9 mm. A solution like this which is already implemented by the Army is a good cost effective measure.

Should have bought Turkish BMC's defunked Armored jeep blueprint which lost out to the Otokar Cobra.

Seems as good as up armoured hmmwv on paper. There is even remote weapons station in the last pic.

Not intended to go up against RPGs.

Bullets are enough to make them fish in a barrel.
