Khursheed Shah cautions PML-N against locking horns with two retired generals

Khursheed Ahmed Shah, a prominent PPP figure, has advised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), a former partner in the PDM-led coalition government, not to pursue any action against retired army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and former spymaster retired Lt-Gen Faiz Hamid.

Khursheed Shah's counsel came shortly after Nawaz Sharif, the head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, made a strong statement emphasising the need for strict accountability of those responsible for his removal as prime minister in 2017.

Speaking via video link from London, Sharif asserted that Pakistan's path to progress depended on holding accountable all those involved in the 2017 conspiracy. He further alleged that former chief justices of Pakistan, Saqib Nisar and Asif Saeed Khosa, along with Supreme Court judge Azmat Saeed, were also part of this conspiracy and should be held responsible for the country's predicament.

Khursheed Shah cautioned the PML-N against pursuing action against the two retired generals, expressing doubt about the feasibility of their plan to target these former military leaders. He pointed out the case of late military dictator Musharraf, who was sentenced under Article 6 of the Constitution, but was later hospitalised and transferred to Dubai, suggesting that pursuing such conflicts might be unproductive.

Shah urged the PML-N to avoid getting embroiled in such situations, noting that politicians often find themselves entangled in such disputes.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif maintained that Pakistan had been pushed to the brink of disaster through a plot that placed amateurs in power, underscoring the importance of adhering to the law in addressing the culprits behind the conspiracy.

Khurshed Shah is very right. Nawaz Sharif's calls for accountability of Bajwa and Faiz are not driven by the need for de-militarization of politics but as a result of personal vendetta. If Nawaz Sharif were true to his intentions, then why did he asked PMLN to vote in favor of Bajwa's extension in the first place?
Now he's calling for the accountability of the both while he colluded with one of them while they were in uniform.

If Nawaz Sharif were true to his intentions, then why did he asked PMLN to vote in favor of Bajwa's extension in the first place?

The bigger question is if Bajwa collaborated with PDM to remove IK and give PDM the power then why is NS after Bajwa, why is he trying to start a showdown with Asim Munir who as been mentioned on PDF is part of the London plan. Pmln needs to watch what they say and get back to power in January elections. The way it looks like if Pmln is back in power, they will again have major differences with the establishment.

PMLN is good at creating these dramas before elections. They are going after previous masters that are irrelevant now but they will not go after the current master. This is how Nawaz Sharif has succeeded in politics.

Asim Munir may also have bone to pick with his ex-boss who not only removed him from his post on the wish of Imran but also created hurdles for his appointment as a COAS to have Shair Shamshad as his successor instead.

Why do they need to go after their current masters? Imran only went after Bajwa when he withdrew his support. He was all praises until Bajwa was firmly behind his back.
