Khosa invites Sharif, Imran to join hands with PPP
/ 19 April 2012
DUBAI Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has invited both opposition parties, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf, to join hands with the Pakistan Peoples Party in nation-building.
I call upon both Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan to come forward and take part in the PPPs efforts for building the nation, as we have to work together for Pakistan, Khosa told a community meeting in Dubai on Tuesday. He was on a short visit to the UAE on his return to Pakistan from the UK and was accompanied by Azizur Rahman Chan, General Secretary of the PPP Punjab.
He said that the PPP was a symbol of Pakistans federation and has emerged stronger after every attempt at crushing it. Pakistan is going through a transition from dictatorship to democracy under four years of the PPP government. We will not allow anyone to stop Pakistan from becoming a welfare state, he said. Khosa said that the media had generally played a key role in spreading information and knowledge among the masses, but a segment of it has adopted a negative approach. They said there will be no Senate elections, but the elections were held and the PPP emerged victorious. Now a people-friendly budget will be announced on May 18 and fair elections will be held in 2013 that will be won by the PPP, Khosa said.
He said that the PPP had not reacted to the criticism by the media. We welcome criticism, but please do not harm the country. The continued propaganda by the media about terrorism and corruption in Pakistan presents a wrong image of the country in the world and scares away investors, he said.
Grow up. Grow Up. For Gods sake, be a true Pakistani, Khosa advised the media.
Pakistan Consul General Tariq Iqbal Soomro explained the role of the consulate in Dubai in serving the 900,000-strong community in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
