Khaleda to visit China

Dhaka, Dec 10 (UNB) - Opposition leader Khaleda Zia will pay a three-day visit to China on December 19-21 at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Begum Khaleda Zia will leave here for Beijing on December 18, her press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan told UNB.

During the visit, the former Prime Minister will hold meetings with leaders of the Chinese government and the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Improving relations between BNP and the CPC, issues of mutual interests of the two peoples, and peace and security in South Asia will come up for discussion during the meetings, Maruf Khan said.

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will be accompanied by some party leaders and officials of the opposition leader’s office.

She will return home on December 23.

I am not sure but BNP has and desire strong relation with China as nation. BNP is not party of Ghaddars that deny the hospitality and good wishes of China toward Bangladeshis.

It was a very strange decision and it seemed to me that Begum Zia was not in control of the affairs of the country. The then FM Morshed Khan was a businessman and probably he wanted a business relationship with a more developed Taiwan. So, I think, the idea of a Taiwanese trade office in Dhaka was his stupid brainchild.

AL gets the invitation in every gerneral assembly of CPC since 1950's. AL has a strong bond with the chinese communist party.

This is a party to party in the exchange, not the state. CCP has a lot of communication and other parties, whether ruling or opposition parties, which is part of diplomacy. Anyway this is a very common sense, other countries as well.
