Khaled Musharraf - Liberation WEar's Icon

1.JRB's chief was away in Spain or somewhere. But the boss of the boss Tofayel was very much in Dhaka but did nothing. Questions have been asked about his mysterious role. Upon instruction from SM, Tofayel was briefed by the DMI about disgruntled BA officers planning a coup. Tofayel was at that time head of national security.
2. SM's personal security was looked after by RAW. If RAW had not withdrawn that coverage for the CIA coup to roll, things might have been different.

That's interesting... If I'm not wrong, Mujib and Bhutto maintained a secret but strong communication since Pakistan's recognition of Bangladesh in 1974... And also, the admission of Bangladesh into OIC wasn't looked with good faith by Indira Gandhi...

Indira was jealous. SM had been declared as a leader of NAM by Castro and Tito. A man of magnetic personality, SM had emerged as a regional leader overtaking Indira or Bhutto. Moreover, SM's brand of Bengali nationalism could cause secessionist movement in W Bengal where common people thought him to be a reincarnation of Netaji Subash. Through OIC, through NAM, and finally by trying to get directly linked with Soviet Union with the creation of BAKSAL, worried Indira.

Does not seem that brave to me, Pakistani soldiers were much braver than skinny lungi commandos.

Interesting choice of date 15th August

Great Hero, Later killed by Major Zia's fraction. After 15 August these patriot officers out of thin air and by foreign provocation killed Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In return they got coup and counter coup. Killed themselves in thousands for no reason. Khaled Musharraf who was also behind Sheikh Mujib's assassination.

You believe Pakistan was behind the assassination of Mujib???

Yes. Who else becomes more happy than the Pakistanis which gave them a hope to get back the area they lost. And revenge by zealot Bhutto of losing a war and ideological enemy SM. Bhutto who offered large amounts of money to SM to negotiate with him in December 1971. And SM refused and was unaware of the situation in BD whole 9 months. He assured both will rule the country together. Bhutto later said he will get back East Pakistan in 5 to 10 years. Which he tried by provoking SM's killing and proved by his actions after Mujib's assasination. There were significant numbers of ideological Pakistanis in BD as well.Though I consider Zia one of the killer of SM, he proved himself a patriot by not compromising with Bhutto.

I read somewhere, there were slogans like uriye dao shimana or something like that in both side of the border right after the Liberation War. Even Satyajit Ray directly called for merging West Bengal with Bangladesh in a speech, so the concern for secessionist movement seems legit. But the part on leadership of NAM looks most interesting, both Castro and Tito were indeed quite close to SM.

@ More happy does not necessarily mean that Pakistan was involved in killing Sk Mujib. These were all bulshit. Yes, to some extend CIA was involved. About Zia's involvement in killing Sk Mujib was also not correct. Something coming over that was known to all even Sk Mujib himself !

@ It was Brig Nuruzaman who was the head of JRB. On the day of 15 August 1975, he was in USSR to inspect/see the proposed consignment of Tanks which was ready for delivery to Bangladesh. These tanks were to be given to JRB as promised by the Govt (Secret).
