Hafiz gul bahadur had very unstable and shaky peace agreement with pak army, he had threatened to break it several times. Either you go fully against the state, like TTP or fully cooperate with state like late mullah nazir. One thing is clear, state wont allow you to operate as warlord for long. When the time comes, operation will also take place against waziri taliban of south waziristan.

entering peace agreements with some tribes in FATA was a good strategy. reduce the number of potential enemies and show to parties like Jamat Islami, PTI and JUI that army did give peace a chance.

when those tribal lords broke the agreements and covertly assisted the TTP and other foreign terrorists then army had the justification to launch an attack on them.

on a side note when our relations with USA went downhill then USA conducted some drone strikes with an apparent purpose of disrupting peace with some tribal groups who had no hand in the fight but such strikes antagonised them sending them in the TTP fold.

fast forward now, the drone strikes are now clearly in support of our military operation and over all war on terror witin our boundries

Datta Khel air strikes: Rumours swirl about death of Haqqani network’s ally


BANNU: Rumour has it that Hafiz Gul Bahadur, a militant commander allied with the Haqqani network, was killed in recent military air strikes in Datta Khel tehsil of North Waziristan Agency where a military operation has been ongoing since mid-June.

Military warplanes targeted a compound where 30 to 40 top commanders of Gul Bahadur’s Shura Mujahideen North Waziristan were having a consultative meeting, according to civil and military officials. Almost all of them were either killed or injured, the officials added.

On record, officials confirmed the death of top commanders like Maulvi Sadiq Noor, Akhtar Mohammad, aka Akhtar Jan, and Shera. However, they wouldn’t confirm the death of Hafiz Gul Bahadur saying “investigations are ongoing”. Fighter jets also bombed hideouts of militants in some other areas, including Palanga and Kasmeeza.

I doubt this group would recover from loss of such important commanders.......If entire leadership is wiped out in airstrike, they are done for.

If Hafiz Gul bahadur is indeed dead than it would be safe to assume that taliban movement had come to an end in Pakistan.

Mullah radio can't be termed as a true leader of talibans because he's not supported by most of the taliban and is the reason responsible for the death of baitullah mehsud created ttp
