Kerala beats Taj Mahal in Google Search Trends for 2012

Trivandrum is beautiful though.

IMO however, Sikkim is the best. Vastly underrated

Taj Mahal is overhyped - Kerala deserves to be the top most travel destination (not only in google search alone)

Kerala is the most beautiful state in India and surely one of the most beautiful places on the world. Furthermore our development level is as high as a european country. Infrastructure is good as well, even smaller cities are planing to build international airports.

Kerala is surely one of the most beautiful states...there are other states like Uttarkhand or Sikkim which have equal natural beauty..

With out them most of the Kerala's construction projects will come to screeching halt.Kerala has an acute labor shortage.And yes cities are indeed ugly.Nothing is planned.All major South Indian cities are like that.

I have been there..and I found meemmutti, kuruvadeep and soochiparai better to visit if you are on a tight schedule and if you are person who would love a swim when found a falls....also the ride back into TN through mudumalai is awesome..

EDIT: only thing you have to careful is the crazy driving of the lorry and ksrtc drivers who dont give a fcuk who else is driving on the roads.

Why does a state Kerala beat a historical place Taj Mahal?-

Taj mahal cannot be beaten by kerala.... for the simple reason its the 1 of the wonders of the world.... But kerala has beaten taj mahal on google search.... reasons...

1) People are not much aware of what kerala has to offer - Kerala is a state with 14 district and every district has something to offer for tourist... so may be people wanna see the details.

2) Kerala is one state which used internet as a medium for advertising extensively...

3) Taj mahal there is not much to search as people already knows about it.....

It doesnt mean that kerala is more important than Taj

Kerala's natural beauty is no joke, but Kerala is a boring place.

Taj Mahal isn't overhyped @the people that's saying that. If Agra had the amazing infrastructure with it, it would be more of a winner.

Why would someone from Europe, US and Canada come see natural beauty in India??
People come around the world come to India to see man made beauties, they goto desert of Egypt to see man made beauties. Natural beauty is available in every country.

You have more foreigners visiting goa for it's nature than Agra. Man made monuments can be re-created, but not the nature. You can build a Taj Mahal in the middle of Serengeti... but not serengeti in agra.
