The National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan has received its first Y8F200W military transport aircraft from China.

According to Kazakhstan’s source, the National Guard has received into service the first of 8 ordered Chinese-made Y8F200W military transport aircraft.

The aircraft is built by the Shaanxi Aircraft Corporation at its facility in Hanzhong, Shaanxi province. The Y8F200W modification is different from basic version elongated by 2.2 m fuselage.




The new aircraft is the iteration of a family of aircraft that began with the Soviet-made Antonov An-12 ‘Cub’, which first flew in 1957.

The Y8F200W is a medium-size and medium-range transport aircraft that can take off on gravel or snow-covered runways with an altitude within 3,000 meters above the sea level. It is using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings and was designed specifically to transport troops and equipment.

The Shaanxi Y8 roughly comparable to the United States’ Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules.

The aircraft maker has exported the Y-8 series aircraft to more than 3 countries (some source reported about 10 countries) and regions since 1980s.

9月23日,出口哈萨克斯坦运8F200WA型飞机首架机在陕西城固柳林机场成功转场。当天上午9时20分,该架机腾空而起,冲上云霄,飞向中转机场乌鲁木齐,标志着该架机正式交付哈萨克斯坦用户,运8飞机首次进入独联体和内陆国家市场。

在柳林机场,公司副总经理刘斌、邹硕,中航国际相关领导以及型号管理部、生产管理部、设计研究院、试飞厂等单位领导为机组人员和随行工作人员送行。

据悉,该架机已于当天13时55分抵达乌鲁木齐,将进行为期2天的转场准备和调整,计划于9月26日由乌鲁木齐飞往本次交付的终点站哈萨克斯坦首都阿斯塔纳。

该架机于2017年9月1日正式开铆,2018年6月14日成功首飞,该架机的成功交付是航空工业集团推动“一带一路”建设的重要成果,对我国开拓“一带一路”地区,特别是独联体国家地区航空产品市场具有重要的示范和带领作用

On September 23, the first aircraft of the 8F200WA aircraft exported from Kazakhstan was successfully transferred at the Chenggu Liulin Airport in Shaanxi. At 9:20 in the morning, the aircraft vacated and rushed to the sky and flew to the transit airport Urumqi, marking the official delivery of the aircraft to Kazakhstan users. The 8 aircraft entered the CIS and landlocked countries for the first time.

At Liulin Airport, the company's deputy general manager Liu Bin, Zou Shuo, relevant leaders of AVIC International and model management department, production management department, design institute, test flight factory and other units led the crew and accompanying staff to see off.

It is reported that the aircraft arrived in Urumqi at 13:55 on the same day, and will undergo a two-day transition preparation and adjustment. It is scheduled to fly from Urumqi to the terminal of the delivery in Astana, Kazakhstan on September 26th. .

Such as Type 055 large destroyer and 99A tank, has no soviet russian designs.

Plus Y-8 is mature designs,low cost and reliable,taht is why Kazakhstan choose Y-8 not Y9 (the latter is more espensive for sure)if it is reliable and can meet our demands ,why we need to create new unstable design?!

and plus,Y-8 is not advacned production line in PLA,the most advanced now in PLA is Y20.

China's current strategy is not to bomb the globe. China's current military strategy is still a positive defense strategy. The United States has adopted a global offensive strategy since World War II. China's top priority is still to develop the economy. After becoming a developed country, China can have 10 , 20 , or even 30 aircraft carriers.
Without money,no country can keep the most advanced military equipment permanently.

Kazakhstan is a good friend of China, we share a long common border, they never allow any anti China activities in their soil and never point figures at us, a good example of mutual trust and partnership. Love from China.

Based on improved engine performance and fuel efficiency and the use of new composite materials, I believe that the solid and cost-effective Y-8 transport aircraft will continue to operate for 20 years.

据国外媒体展示了中国出售给哈萨克斯坦的运-8F200型运输机的视频。有哈萨克斯坦军方高官表示运-8运输机的性能足以满足哈斯阿克斯坦军方的需求,航程足以覆盖哈萨克斯坦全境。

Y-8 lack of radar and modern avionics so it is a much cheaper transport compare to better Y-9.

These show there is still a huge market for better price military product rather than advance product.

Kazakhistan is a very very good neighbour of china. They support alot in xinjiang. And there is a huge populaton of kazakh people in xinjiang.
