Kayani, Russian army chief discuss military ties
ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General (COAS) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, who is on an official visit to Russia, on Monday, discussed military ties with Russian ground forces Commander-in-Chief General Vladimir Boldyrev. The two men met at an official dinner held in Kayani’s honour and their discussion focused on enhancing ties between the armies of the two countries. The COAS also called on Russian Defence and Security Committee Chairman Victor Zavarzin and discussed matters pertaining to regional security and common interest. Zavarzin said Russia desired to further enhance its strategic relationship with Pakistan. Later, Kayani also met the deputy foreign minister of Russia. app
