Child abuse and especially boys, it's been going on for decades. The way our society is, it's to be blamed. Girls are protected by their families. Make sure they don't go out alone, make sure someone's with them at all times.
But when it comes to the boys, parents loose all sense of security. Oh, yeh tu ladka hai, let him walk two miles to fetch milk and stuff....koi fikar ki baat nehi. Poor kid, develops this fake sense of security and these predators prey on them. Out of shame, they don't even open their mouth.
Why they like to molest boys and rape them? Boys are easier targets, a girl obviously is the holy grail but harder to catch. Repercussions for a sex offense against a girl is stricter also. And there is always the angry family taking matters into their own hands and carrying out justice dirty Harry style. So, choosing boys is the perfect alternate....nobody retaliates.
What is the solution? Multi tiered. We can't do anything about changing our society which is very close minded on the matters of sex. But we can raise awareness among people, especially parents, to look after their children, both boys and girls just as equally. There is a lot of sexual depravity in our society and our people need to acknowledge that and protect children from these fiends. Goes without saying the laws should be totally revamped and punishment for such acts should be greatly increased and strict. The stigma for being found guilty of a child abuser, pedophile should to the degree that the perpetrators should have no more place left for them back in the society.
