Dude for this to settle one side has to give up. So lets reach the height and then see. I do not think India will give up but after 1 year of protest death and injuries people will relaize they are not heading anywhere. Right now what is happening is that somehow seperatist feel they have a chance.

Also I suggest that we should go back to bullets instead of just silently taking stones. Stone throwers should realize stone will come back with bullet. I think we send the wrong message by being silent. It is wrong. Violence should be dealth with bullent. Plain and simple, make it a norm stone throwers will get a bullet in return.

IR. I understand your sentiments, but apart from DeckinRaj's comment about these being humans, they are also our citizens. Cant kill them for rioting. By having an over strict policy here, will distinguish Kashmir from rest of India which is not the case in our minds. We need a better trained and better equipped police team for managing these upsurges. A few broken bones, a couple of bruises and people are at home nursing the injuires instead of the morgue. You apparently do not understand why there is a curfew there every second day. Search for the word curfew and try to figure out the intensity of the situation in Kashmir before comparing it with a few hooligans in Mumbai.

On Topic:
The US has had this stand for long and there is no doubt that this stand is going to change anytime. As for Pakistani leadership, they are simply interested in their interests, and definitely not in the resolving of the issue. Had they been interested, they would have accepted the suggestions of the US long ago. For Pakistani leadership, Kashmir is only a source of great political mileage. So until we have a government there who is truly in control of the nation and has the intention to resolve the issue, the India-Pakistan stalemate on Kashmir will continue.

As far as separatists instigated violence is concerned, it simply is not sustainable in the long-term. So no need to worry on that front.

P.S. Omar Abdullah must be sacked, he has proved that he is apparently a separatists himself acting as CM under the constitution of India.

I dont know if you do realise there is a difference between a lawfully recognised political party (whatever be their means of protest) that believes in the sovereignity/territorial integrity of India and another who is just opposed to it,rioting violently to secede from India.

Huriyat can be a lawfully political party if it wishes. That does not mean it has right to do what it wishes. Do you stand by everything that Shiv Sena does? Are you from Mumbai? If you are, you would know what a nuisance this party and its people are. You think they are a patriotic bunch. They first attacked the Tamils, than the Gujuratis, and the latest is the North Indians. They do not care about anything other than Maharashtra.
