Kashmir reeling from worst violence since 2010 as 30 killed

We are in a state of war ; the enemy seeks to take away a part of your country

what is the need for being polite

We are NOT in a state of war. The enemy has been trying to take away a part of our country for some time now. Pakistan is NOT our enemy.

This is an Internet forum, intended for discussion, not for fighting wars. It is always good to be polite. When I am not polite, I wish people would tell me so.

These terrorists are making life hell for common person in Kashmir by brainwashing them to revolt. Kashmir can benefit way more by remaining part of India rather than becoming an independent state or part of Pakistan. And certainly its nothing like all problems in Pakistan will be solved once they conquer Kashmir. Status quo is the best solution, those who don't believe are either with lot of funds or time to waste.

Then who is our enemy
Only those who mark us an enemy.

If you don't follow law of the land you are liable to get shot

First declare the land with state officially through the world recognized body "United Nation". Last time I heard JAMMU & KASHMIR (Indian Occupied Kashir) is DISPUTED TERRITORY.

Thank you for the links. You must realise that there are two sides to any story. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom flighter. As I can comprehend from the links above, this man was a Hero to the Kashmiri people so naturally there is some resentment...

The following from the above Al Jazeera article summarizes the problems:-

Most people in Kashmir have long resented the Indian presence, and support rebel demands for an independent Kashmir or a merging with Pakistan. More than 68,000 people have been killed in the uprising and the subsequent Indian military crackdown in Indian administered Kashmir.
As you have said that there are two sides to any story, the freedom fighters for your country are terrorists for us. Peaceful protests against the establishment is allowed in India and Kashmir is no difference. But when the guys like Wani or the Hizbul Mujahedeen decides to take up the arms stuggle against the country and starts attacking the civilians or the administrative authorities then the govt and the armed forces have no other choices left then to capture or kill those who are responsible for disrupting peace and the development of the normal Kashmiris.

So more Pakistani paid stooges are dead. Now, peace loving Kashmiris can find solace.

It would take a lot to pay off millions of Kashmiris who want to leave India...don't you think?

It's their law. It's their constitution, not the Indian constitution. It's the Kashmir Police in the first instance. They do not have to be loyal to an occupier, which is your term, with which I do not agree. They do have to be obedient to the rule of law. If they disobey, they are criminals. They are then liable to restraint, by violent means if necessary. Society cannot function by people taking the law into their own hands. They cannot dictate how those who do not agree with their views should behave. They cannot arrogate the power of making rules to themselves. At the conceptual level they can do all they want. At the intellectual level, they are free. It is not free, and it is not acceptable to break the law.
if you want them to behave as law abiding citizen then present them with the legal way of getting freedom.hold referendum and go with what their majority wants if they want to remain with india we will shut up and if they want to leave then you should let them go.

We should first see what the people of Kashmir think about the guy. They think he is a hero. Correct me if I'm wrong but most targets are military....not civilians unlike the Indian Armed Forces...

There is no way to hold a partial referendum. That will perpetuate for eternity the ethnic cleansing of the Kashmiri Pandits.

There is no way to hold the referendum envisaged by Mountbatten and endorsed by India and mentioned in her petition to the UN, as that was effectively sabotaged right at the beginning by Pakistan. I suspect that you are not aware of this, as this is never mentioned at any time in any place.

Not participating in a referendum is unfortunately not sufficient grounds for disobeying the law. In this case, as pointed out on several occasions, not Indian law, but Kashmiri law.

There are other things that might be said but I would rather confine myself to matters of fact.

Which law you are talking about? You forcefully occupy a land and impose your laws on them and then ask them to follow it? Not fighting for their freedom? Han?
And you call them terrorists? Then those who support/supported Khalistan movement were also terrorists?
Lost of 30 lives don't even seem any problem to you people

30 isn't much, but it's a damn fine start. These jihads that fuel extremists, we know how to tackle them. We're not the West. If you think a bunch of mohammadans can get all uppity and expect everyone to fall to their demands, you're dead wrong.
