Repealing of Article 370 fraught with danger’

Rising Kashmir news
Srinagar, May 30:Grand Mufti Basheer-ud-Din Friday cautioned that repealing of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status (Article 370) is fraught with dangerous consequences that could jeopardize peace in the entire subcontinent.
In a statement, Mufti Basheer-ud-Din said Kashmir is not the ‘personal property of anyone’ and that ‘it is due to Article 370 that India is in Kashmir’. “Kashmir is not a personal enterprise of any one nor is it the integral part of any country. Article 370 guarantees India’s presence in Kashmir. Its repealing will endanger peace and harmony that could be difficult to control,” he said while addressing people at Charar-e-Sharief shrine.
The Grand Mufti also asked New Delhi to start meaningful dialogue and take the arrival of Pakistan’s premier in Delhi during Modi’s oath ceremony a good omen. “Sharief’s acceptance of Modi’s invitation must not be taken as his weakness.”
Kashmir’s grand Mufti also expressed serious concern over the alleged reports of ‘presence of pig fat in Cadbury Ice creams’ and asked the people to avoid consuming it. He also stressed for the early investigation into the matter. “Some Muslim countries have already banned its usage and also the people here should avoid using it including children. Anyone having further information over the same should inform the court

There will be resistance ..but it will be there for everything ..nothing to worry untill no innocent affected ..these so called controller of god should be shown their place under the sun

while I agree with the Mufti on this subject, he has said some things in the past which me personally i would have to dis-associate from

e.g. banning of music in a loosely worded fatwa

however - its obvious why his and other Kashmiri nationalists' stance would have indians here burning.....

i must say he is brave man he got guts to speaks against hindu cult in kashmir...

the issue isnt one of religion or a clash of religious beliefs....a lot of the Kashmiri nationalist groups are supporting pundit ('Kashmiri' hindu) organizations and basically debunking indian propaganda about so called "genocide" of pundits

therefore its in our interests and Kashmiri interests to keep the freedom struggle an existential one, not one over cults

This so-called hindu cult is NOT from kashmir , all the indian posters on this thread are from different remote states of india. Them poking their nose in the internal affairs of kashmir is like "maan na maan mein tera mehman" or "begani shaadi mein abdullah dewana".

Man these people have been saying this for years now bring something new its getting old.
