If you would not have nuclear bombs, Indian tricolor would have woven over Islamabad a long way before..... C'mon leave aside lame excuses...

I am just pointing out some short comings that Pakistani commanders did not forsee in this conflict and one of them was the Bofor Guns.

Who knew that a Gun used in World War II would play such a decisive role in a conflict fought 55 years later.

I have to say that PA is a honor-less army, they didn't accepted the dead bodies of their soldiers by calling them mujahideen. they are doing the same thing with american drones.

Do retired Indian military personnel enter politics ever? Why are we the only country blessed with such activities? Shouldn't there be a ban on these bastard retired Military personnel to participate in politics? They should not be allowed in to any civilian positions nor any political positions after retirement. Their 'politically' motivated comments are conduct unbecoming military officers.

They do but are very rare. Here is one B. C. Khanduri - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The bofors gun used by IA wasn't World war 2 Vintage, it was 80's vintage.

Pakistanis used the artillery as well, until their observers were knocked down by IAF, which incidentally was more crucial since PAF essentially sat out the conflict to save its prized assets, the f-16's from Patrolling Indian Mig 21's and Mig 29's.

The Bofor Guns were the game changer in this conflict.

If India didn't have them then we could have turned this into an Indian Iwo Jima, where India would have had to expend atleast 10,000 soldiers to re-take those hills.

Thats just lame to think that we would have taken 10,000 as casualty. You are totally missing the context. If we didn't have bofors we would have pounded you from air. And we were doing it pretty well. Even if that didn't work next step would be Naval blocade of Karachi Port. Last option War by opening multiple fronts on IB.

10,000 casualty? are you kidding me? We didn't taken even half that number when we split your country in half. Had it not been for the chicken indian politicians we would have dragged you into a full fledged war as soon as Kargil started.

That war would have spiraled into a Nuclear War

Oh come on dude how can you be so ignorant, Pakistan had no nuclear weapons in 99.

You should thank Vajpayee he refused the IAF to cross the LoC to attack supply dumps in Pak occupied Kashmir, that would have escalated it real fast.

Skardu would soon have turned into an ashtray had Vajpayee allowed IAF to attack the main supply dumps there.

Umm....are you for real?

Pakistan tested Nuclear Weapons in 1998.

The only reason Pakistan started this Kargil incursion was because it had nuclear weapons and it knew that will serve to prevent this localized conflict into a wider war.

:D

That's why you tried to intrude Pak air space by the help of Israel Air force!

Did you even read the UN report,Indian Army report or Pakistan army report about the casualties! Or you are here to talk on the basis of what Nawaj,Sathi have to say!!

Nuclear War is not that simple. The idea would be open multiple fronts. Pakistan was in no way in a state to fight a prolonged war after the sanctions of 90s. Cease fire would have happened within few days with the whole world clamoring for it. We would have made minor gains in Punjab and Sindh. (There is no denying that PA is a through professional army and in its own backyard within a few days of fighting I don't see IA making any major gains). Compromise would be total withdrawal to original positions. In the end though we would have got our territory back much sooner with the added advantage of a bankrupt Pakistan (after war). Though I agree there is always a some percentage chance of Nuclear war.

As Gen Jamshed Kiyani said Kargil was a huge debacle for Pakistan and should right up there with 1971. Led by 4 trigger happy Generals one of them became the your president for 10 years and is responsible for all the ills that is affecting you guys. Just because you didn't loose anything tangable (like east bangladesh) most Pakistanis can't see the effects. But it completely destroyed your standing at the world stage.

They say that the poor Indian jawans' blood poured down the sides of the peaks and could be seen from miles away.

Our lmgs being put to work furiously.

Hmmmm just like the yellow thing coming out from your backside is stored up there on top of your head
