KARACHI: With the rising incidents of street crime in Karachi, Additional Inspector-General (AIG) Javed Alam Odho has announced to launch Shaheen Force with the exclusive duty of preventing street crime.

The motorbike-mounted Shaheen Force will patrol the markets and public places to keep an eye on muggers. Sharpshooters are also included in the Shaheen Force.

The main purpose to launch the new force is to curb the increasing street crimes in the metropolitan city. The force will chase the muggers and fight them, AIG Odho said.

Officers in the force will be equipped with modern weapons and radios to immediately respond to situations as per directions received from the control room.

The AIG Karachi said Shaheen Force will be seen patrolling the streets of the city within 2 days.

Earlier in the day, police claimed to have apprehended an accomplice of a street criminal who was filmed by a citizen robbing a citizen and later identified through his social media profile.

Shahra-e-Noor Jahan police station arrested an accomplice of Adnan Albert during a raid and identified him as Sohail. “He is a close associate of Adnan Albert and image of both the suspects went viral on social media while committing a robbery,” they said, adding the authorities also recovered a hand grenade, pistol, mobile phone and other belongings.

It's like providing medication without doing the tests. As a result, the whole provincial police and LGBTQ security forces are compromised, supported by local politicians who back these gangs as their army.

In Gujranwala, my wife's side family wasn't selling a prime piece of land, and this land robber named Shabir Maher falsified documents showing he purchased it when it wasn't the case. It's been eight years, and we've got the fingerprints attested in Lahore Forensic lab among other witnesses but to no avail. So every few months, we go to court, and they give a new date to come back with no real progress overall. The funny part in those eight years is that Shabir Maher has not once shown up in court. Had this been in the U.S., he would have lost the case for no show, heck a murder case in U.S. court takes two years at most from start to finish.

To think this clown show on motorcycles will do anything.

Damn they're a "street crime" fighting force, use Bike as their primary mode of transportation

One of the best Police forces in Pakistan. I have dealt with them and I have also seen many Lahoris praise them.

They have a height and built criteria and can be very intimidating. The reason Dolphin's is a capable force is because it's the first to arrive, it arrives within few minutes usually. and then it can handover the case to local PS.

In my dealing, they showed me the time I made the call and then arrived with in 5 minutes. The Police operator gave them my number and they called me with in 2 minutes or so that they are arriving and if I am at the location. They arrived within next 2-3 minutes. They were professional in handling the incident. No complaints.

Exactly what I was going to say. Give them 9 mili. Just a couple of years ago there was an incident in which a 7.62x39 bullet fired by a policeman against a robber ricocheted, went through the back of the car and fatally wounded a little girl.

Just give 60 cars and cars not that non AC Dala and same number of bikes to every Police Station with each car and bike can get 250 Litres of Patrol each day and let them do patrol and investigate cases in them. And give them free plus make strict laws and even state should become party in cases in which public doesn't become.

Stupid waste of Money, put some development funds into Karachi, the city has turned into a huge pile of shit, increasing the number of police will not work, most of the chor's pay share to Police, but why do we have police for chotay chor ? when big chor's are sitting in Parliaments and GHQ ?
