Karachi police arrest 610 accused in past 72 hours

KARACHI: Karachi police in their continued drive against criminals, arrested 610 accused from various parts of the city during the last 72 hours.

A police statement on Monday said that those arrested included 117 absconders, proclaimed offenders and those allegedly involved in cases of murder, dacoity and other crimes.

It further said that as many as 73 illegal immigrants were also arrested.

118 weapons of various calibers were also recovered from the possession of some of the accused.

We congratulate the Pakistani security forces on arresting these criminals. It is no secret that the city of Karachi has been plagued with violence and terrorist activities’ in recent times. The largest city of Pakistan is referred as the financial capital of Pakistan. Therefore, the deteriorating situation impacts the rest of the country. It is clear that the terrorists are trying to destabilize the government of Pakistan. We stand by the government of Pakistan in its quest for peace and commend their efforts to counterterrorism. We wish to see peace prevail throughout the city. We share a common stance against terrorism, and hope to work together to restore peace in the region.
