Karachi accounts for two-thirds of the top 50 taxpayers in the country.

The Federal Board of Revenue has compiled a list of the people who paid the highest tax on their incomes during 2017-18. Two-thirds of the FBR’s top 50 taxpayers’ list, 33 to be precise, are from Karachi, including the top three.

In the same year, six people from Lahore, three from Gujranwala and two from Islamabad were also among the top 50 taxpayers.

Lahore has more tax filers than Karachi however Lahore pays less tax. One benefit Karachi has is that it is a port city, which carries most of Pakistan's exports. This allows more businesses to be created and increases wealth generation.

Karachi also has a much larger population than Lahore.

The OP has an issue with Lahore or any other part of Pakistan that is not Karachi. This behaviour should be dealt with.

I answered your question on why Karachi collects more tax, if you don't have enough brain cells to comprehend the answer then seek education.

Karachi collected tax to spend on its people and the rest of Pakistan. That's it.

Simple.

If you move Industries and Institutions from Karachi to ISB/Lahore then ISB/Lahore will pay more taxes.

It is the people of Pakistan who made Karachi what it is. Karachi did not make these people.

It is high time that we develop other cities immediately to correct this imbalance.

Karachi is not an entity so it could not have paid anything.

Business with head offices in Karachi pay tax. Value added is from all over Pakistan. Business registered in Karachi does not mean anything if the value is being added from all over Pakistan.

here! and lemme assure you; you majority kids haven't paid as much tax since inception of Pakistan as much as we sons of soil have remitted back to Pakistan in few years. So if it comforts you and you wanna boost about some invisible pride; go ahead but keep this not so hidden jibes with yourself. It's enough now!

These 33 are paying taxes because of people of Punjab and KPK as per the logic given in this thread

People of Punjab and KPK themselves don't pay taxes but somehow manage to make Karachiites do it
