What's new

Karachi based journalist LASHED OUT at Pakistani Establishment: They take Karachi as FOOTBALL.

I guess Karachi will be the next Afghanistan then but i agree with you let others take the ownership despite they are only interested in grabing resources. I myself is more focused on developing my skills and leave this country along with several others, future is something else, i dont see justice here anymore.

majority of educated people are leaving Karachi, some are going to Middle East, some to East Asian countries, Turkey and western countries. Karachi will become brain dump.

Stupid Karachietes playing victim card at every opportunity, Karachi was raped by the proclaimed champions if Karachi with the full support of Karachiets. Keep crying or mend your ways.

Listen from 2:10 and onwards

He is saying that in context of recent news that MQM is again being regrouped on directions of PINDI

In my opinion, Karachi won't side with establishment touts as Rawalpindi is more interested in playing games here than actually solving grievances of Karachi.

Another important point to note: This journalist - Noor ul Arfeen is local Karachi dude - Urdu chap.

It is EXTREMELY RARE for Karachiite or Urdu wala to take such bold stance against Establishment. Usually Sindhi/Baloch media is considered hostile to Establishment.

Many analysis was right - Karachi is also turning anti establishment gradually - realizing how establishment tricked her and then dumped her after using it while none of the issues got resolved.

@Cliftonite @Areesh @jupiter2007 @Meengla @JamD

I don't think MQM has that much support in Karachi as they used to had. We got tired of them...No?

I believe PTI should be given more chance. They still have three more years left and I genuinely feel they are interested in improving things in Karachi.

Another thing: Indians are not stupid. When BJP or Indian deep state boy Gaurav Arya, suddenly starts shouting Karachi Karachi - saying that Karachi will become part of India blah blah, we Pakistani acted foolish and took it into it's literal meaning. Indians themselves know Karachi WILL NEVER be part of India - What those fu**ers are probably hinting at is that same game will be played in Karachi like being played in Balochistan. Proxy wars, sabotage etc

What are you talking about? A local party which took votes in millions was using kill squads in Karachi. Another party which is in government had extortion gangs roaming the city and killing at will and what we have here is 'blame establishment'!

Whats going on in Karachi is the fault of the politicians not establishment. Politicians are not sincere in solving Karachi issues. The corrupt provincial govt plays spoiler in every project as it wants to pocket a certain percentage. Its because the ruling party has no stake in Karachi so its not interested in investing politically. The one which has political stake in the city, PTI, cant do anything as Karachi is a provincial capital.

Karachi is foremost a political issue, a result of political logjam. Before blaming establishment lazily for all faults, pull the provincial govt by its neck. 12 years of uninterrupted rule, of democracy is a very long time to not bring any reforms.

For 3 decades, MQM ruled the city through its terror. Each time, knowing fully well that MQM is a terrorist organization, people of Karachi overwhelmingly voted for it. Despite knowing fully well who was setting the city on fire, people of Karachi had a soft corner for MQM purely out of ethnic bias.

But blame establishment!

We have to understand one thing, the establishment's involvement in Pakistan's politics is because of our incompetent, corrupt, and criminal SO-CALLED political leadership.
It is the other way around. The corruption in politics is due to constant interference from the establishment. Bhutto, Sharifs, Altaf & Co, TLP, PTI, Chaudary bros etc were all launched by them to clip the wings of an opposing force. In the long run, this policy has backfired. Political stability is a must for progress.

Zia created MQM to weaken PPP. Mushi commando gave many concession to MQM, and looked the other way, because he needed them to stay in power. The root causes of Karachi's issues are ethnic in nature, and caused by dictators.

I m no fan of Zia but this charge that he created MQM is so rubbish that it does not deserve any response. Being from Karachi, I know myself the politics going on there.

Zia didn't create MQM. PPP did with its hyper Sindhi ethnic policies

I'm not saying that there weren't any valid grievances that resulted in the creation of MQM or that Zia himself did it(although a former army chief is on record saying that he did). Establishment usually props people up as per need. That is their modus operandi.

PTI needs to be given more time. The 18th Amendment may not be bad for Pakistan in long term and this nasty Sindh govt won't last forever. BTW, I don't think 'the Establishment' is supporting MQM against PTI. What the Pakistani military would want is stability inside Pakistan, and rapid progress on CPEC and also be prepared for a potential war with India in the spring of 2021; there is no luxury to disrupt the current order!

As for the Indian fantasy of Karachi ever supporting India--that is totally garbage! While elements in Punjab may try to relate to Indian Sikhs or some in K-P may relate to Pashtuns in Afghanistan, the Urdu speakers of Karachi burned their bridges when they moved to Pakistan during the Partition. There are no Pakistanis more anti-Indian than the Urdu speakers!! And sometimes you see in Indian forums the Indians' hatred toward the Urdu Speakers of Pakistan because of not only the current stance of the Urdu Speakers but also the crucial role they had played in the formation of Pakistan, starting with Sir Syed's revivalism in mid 19th century.

As for the proxy war... the Indians will exploit fault lines in any part of Pakistan if those lines are exposed.
Absolutly right urdu speaker burned there all boats when they migrated to Pakistan & they extremily hate india...

There are some groups that will never be anti Pakistan- Muhajirs, Hazaras, Gilgit Baltistanis and majority of Punjabis. Why?

Because they know what the alternative is. If Pakistan is bad, the place they originally came from (India, IOK and Afghanistan) is hell for them if they go back.

That's very true.
