They're trained in conducting IBOs, its specialist training intended to avoid stand-offs. Make it quick, in and out.

So trained in firearm operations like specialist units within, let's say Army or Rangers?

Or do they just go in for identification and such stuff?

I very much doubt a civilian AD has the training to conduct direct action missions. This takes years of training to learn and master in Zarrar and other CT forces.

They're very well oriented with weapons and tactics.

They have all the requisite skills to successfully carry out their duties.

The fact remains that all these neighbourhoods of Karachi, especially those with the multiple apartment blocks are key areas for criminals to hide. Sadly, the focus remains on the Katchi abadis or the refugee areas which whilst being extremist hotspots should not be the only usual suspects.

There are brothels being run next to supposedly posh hospitals in Clifton because the PPP waderas like to visit them.. and in the same places drugs are sold. Ironically, the rangers have a checkpost right on the road but somehow these are ignored.

Entire blocks of Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Maymar have MQM thugs and target killers but the local police chief cant get the balls to clean them out specifically because its going to be bloody in those blocs and that the systematic indoctrination of youngsters in those blocs may lead to greater issue.

Yet, tolerating these individuals also leaves the door open for AQ or the new ISIS breed to walk in.
I personally know of a known Hizb-ut-Tahrir activist and ISIS sympathizer being given full clearance to Kamra to work on the JF because he has(which he actually does) a very good reputation as a brilliant electronics expert. Yet, are his skills enough to justify his access and potentially have a massive security threat?

This then leads to questions on what is our resolve against extremism and why are people like those intel officers lost against supposed current threats for nothing when future threats are left around for "usefullness".

Martyr's name was sajjad he was AD - Intelligence bearu , the man was leading the raiding party

There are many unsung heros. Recognise thier sacrifices. Declare thier names and give them awards. Invite thier families on formal occasions like Youme Shahuada. There is no threat to thier families after thier death.

Don't know about ISIS, but HuT supporters are in fairly large numbers in the military...and ever since the incident with that Brig, pretty close tabs have been kept on a whole lot of them, I know of a few cases personally as well, where the officers have been under questioning and taken to task.

They should be drummed out or worse. HuT is a disease that is near addictive and will lead to massive repercussions later on for Pakistan internally and diplomatically. The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.. the ones who turned Egypt into Afghanistan in less than a year and carrier out total nepotism and corruption are essentially Hizb-ut-Tahrir.

I'm sorry but I can't take your word for it. It's a very different skill set to be in intelligence and to be skilled in urban combat. It takes years to master each and I have never heard of anyone in intelligence getting that level of training.

Hi,

Director grade personal must never be part of the BREAK IN party. Their job is to find---plan and DESIGNATE the strike.

You can replace 10 soldiers---but to replace one capable leader is very difficult.

you do realize that Icarus is from Armed forces???
i cannot give authentic information but I was reading Col Khanzada's old interview where he had mentioned that though he was not SSG but after joining ISI for Field work he went through Commando course.....and given 70% of the staff in the agency is civilians and they are leading the ops, so i believe this stands true that they are training for conducting raids
Elite Police course for newly inducted ASPs (CSPs) is 45 days so idk which yrs and years of training you are refering to

for your kind information , our ISI and MI peronale in officer ranks are pooled from Pakistani military and some have SSG background as well. the lower tier includes both non commissioned and civilians. and all of them regardless of their service background are trained in Close quarter combat and unarmed combat the training is tough mentally and physically and is not for the meek.

and by the way, the gentleman you addressed is a serving officer of Pakistan military.

thanks

terrorist live on a short fuse , their important leaders normally blow themselves up or they have goons who charge at the raiding party and detonate their jackets. there is simply nothing to prevent that given the tight corners and confined spaces.
American/ British special forces have faced the same situation in Iraq and Afghanistan

true, but telling you honestly even for Sub Inspector (BPS-14), the recruitment procedure is very grueling and demanding, with special focus on Psychological, Intelligence & Analytical skills
