RIYADH — King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) recently signed an agreement with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to conduct experiments on Saudi Satellite (Saudi SAT-4), according to Dr. Badur Al-Suwaidan, supervisor of the National Center for Satellite Technology. The new satellite is expected to be launched this summer. KASCT has so far launched 12 satellites for remote sensing and geographic information systems. The most recent one, T-3, has been providing the Kingdom with space photos over the last seven years.

Why not KACST along with other GCC countries like:
UAE, Oman, Yemen, Jordan, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco

join in the plan of making a GPS system in space consisting of about 21-30 satellites in fixed positions providing commercial and military usage. Also similarly making Communication Satellite network globally providing commercial and military usage; also a nice and clean way of making good money for them.

But they will need to have their own launching platforms all over GCC.

Does Saudi Military have encrypted SATCOM of its own?

Low observation I guess.

We launched 12 sats last year, and we are rolling more ..
Saudi Sat-4 has been successfully delivered to orbit.:victory:

KSA now has 13 operational satellites in orbit.

.....are all the satellites launched by NASA?.....if not, can you give a list of your satellites and where they are launched from......

Idk about NASA but according to the Head of our space program, he said that some of our sats were launched from Kazakhstan.

Yes KSA has its own SATCOM and manufactures secured data link systems, surveillance pods, IFF systems, EW systems. Two more Sats will be launched by 2015 brining the total to number to15 Sats orbiting earth.
