What's new

Ka-52K. World's first dedicated carrier attack helicopter which has folding rotors and wings.

. .
K means ship borne. Like Su-27K (renamed Su-33), MiG-29K.
You assume by yourself and its NATO definition and its for fighter not for helis its standard name by the company not related to only KA-52 (carrier capable) only, why they Russian called land based K-50 a K, its is not carrier capable or have a folding wing/rotors:hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::crazy::crazy::crazy:

na but what is K for land based KA-50

Ka stands for Kamov. Likewise, Mi stands for Mil, MiG stands for Mikoyan Gurevich, Su stands for Sukhoi, Be stands for Beriev, Il stands for Ilyushin, Tu stands for Tupolov, An stands for Antonov, Yak stands for Yakovlev. K as suffix stands for ship borne, for example Su-27K, MiG-29K, Ka-52K.
