There is a big water tension between farmers in Punjab and Haryana. Haryana at one point was part of Punjab. India segregated the Sikh and Hindus in Punjab by separating Haryana from Punjab. This reduced the sectarian conflict to an extent. It has now turned into a conflict over water.
