What's new

JNU is like a land of lotus-eaters, where we have not emerged from the Cold War: Makarand Paranjape

We need real secularism. Not pseudo secularism. The culture of politics in JNU is same as in mainstream politics.

Someone from UP came to slap Kanhaiya on Army comment

Since childhood I have noticed the use of violence and threats by the left parties and unions in India. Only last month a murder by left activists was carried out in Kerala. I am not even counting the hundreds of murders every year by the Maoists.

I do not pretend to be an intellectual thinker like some posters here (and quite frankly we are privileged to have them here), but as a common man when leftists and the new trend of islamists masquerading as leftists beat their chests about democracy, free speech etc, I feel disgusted. Every available evidence points at their horrible record in this aspect, and that record can not even be white washed, because it comes from their ideology.

There has to be a middle path, but to say that the leftist or islamist path is that, is downright insulting to a common man like me.

Rubbish. Abstention does not kill the spirit of democracy. It just opens up another choice which can be democratically exercised freely.

It IS a choice, and it is the wrong choice. It closes off the possibility of exchanging ideas and discovering common grounds.

You do not mean leftist, but Communist, and one of the CPI(M) or the CPI(ML). They and their violent ideology are abhorrent.

Let us sincerely encourage him. It is a most desirable state for him and his ilk.

Look at it as de-stressing the gene pool.

Rehneii dei Joe Bhai at our age you were the South Asian Casanova ! :D

Never. Honest. I can get you certificates from Casanovees.

About your original question, a (non-)consummation devoutly to be wished.

That is because they were told to listen and not boo and heckle unnecessarily or throw out belongings of ABVP Girl students belongings, saying "QUIT ABVP" posted on her door.
When will these idiots in JNU understand there are a thousand eyes watching everything now. That is why they are in moderation ,Rest assured the rotten tree will be removed from its roots.
JNU will be dealt in the same way Communists deal when they are in power to their opponents :D
What did Stalin do?
What did Mao do?
You never gave Democracy rights to your opponents in Kerala or West Bengal, as others gave you in non Communist states.
Even recently you chopped off BJP worker in Kerala,Expect no mercy too.
;)

When you stop being a windy gasbag, and a terror to all as long as the encounters are electronic, what do I have to do with BJP workers chopped in Kerala? What do you mean by addressing it to me? What do you mean,"You never gave Democracy rights to your opponents in Kerala or West Bengal, as others gave you in non Communist states"?

He means exactly what he says? Your support their ideology, and are more than happy to look the other way while they commit their violent crimes against their political opponents.

When the CPI(M) does inhuman basterdly acts like what happened on March 17, 1970 to the Sain family in Burdwan, West Bengal (and numerous others including the current string of murders of RSS-BJP members in Kerala), leftist "intellectuals" like yourself are more than happy to look the other way

If one follows your posts (though I have fortunately not had the displeasure of reading them all), it is clear your political inclinations are strongly in the left, somewhere between the Communists (exteme left) and Congress (centre left).

Neither is right, and your impertinence gets a notice.
