PAT announces support for PTI candidate in NA-122 by-poll



The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) announced on Tuesday its support for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s candidate in the upcoming by-election in NA-122, Lahore.

According to Express News, the decision was taken after talks between the two parties.

Polling for NA-122 is due on October 11 and the PTI has fielded former provincial minister Abdul Aleem Khan against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Ayaz Sadiq.

The coveted NA-122, Lahore seat fell vacant after an election tribunal, in its verdict on August 22, found irregularities in the 2013 general elections, ultimately causing Sadiq, the former National Assembly speaker, to step down.

Earlier on October 5, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), along with several other religious parties including the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and the Sunni Tehrik (ST) had announced its support for the PTI in the upcoming by-election.

“Upon the directives and consultations received from the party’s central leadership, we have decided to support PTI in NA-122 and PP-147,” JI’s Lahore chief Mian Maqsood said while addressing a joint press conference with PTI’s Punjab organiser Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.

Oh as for PTI thing.....I believe it was PTI that allowed re election even when they won and another party asked for it in KPK local elections so your logic kinda fails and infact applies sounds very like a noon logic...When PPP won I wonder who wanted to be on the streets? :whiste: when they wont - be it rigging or not it was proclaimed fair and lovely and NS was already thanking his ancestors for his success before the results were announced
