Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited exercise area near Jhelum. COAS witnessed exercise of a Brigade in Line of Control(LOC) Environment. The exercise was aimed at stimulating battlefield conditions to train the troops in a realistic environment. Fire of various weapon systems including tanks, anti-tank weapons, multiple calibre artillery guns and PAF fighter jets was part of the exercise.

COAS appreciated the operational training standard and high morale of troops. While talking to officers and men, General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that Pakistan Army is fully invested in peace and stability of the region. However, we are ready and resolute in defending the motherland against any misadventure. COAS exhorted troops to focus on training and professional pursuits as the strenuous training and highest standard of preparedness is the hallmark to deter any belligerence. Commander Rawalpindi Corps was also present.

Approx. numbers are 48 AK-1, 324 AK, 320 T-80UD, 268 Type 85-IIAP, 504 AZ, 158 Type 69-IIMP and 600+ Type 59.

In recent years, 23 Inf. Div. has conducted several LOC focused exercises. The tanks visible in above pic belong to the division's armoured regiment stationed at Jalalpur Jattan.

In the video, 226 AK (HAT) company is also visible, 23 ID has at least one more HAT company. Conversion of IA's Akhnoor based ID into RAPID seems to have prompted raising of these AT units but there are rumours PA plans a new Mech. Div. for XXX Corps.

We need more mechanized infantry .

Desirable for 16x Infantry Division armoured regiments (excluding FCNA, 12 ID, 19 ID and 34 LID):

1x MIB (50 APC / IFV) each
Total: 16 x 50 = 800

1x SP Medium battery (6 M109 SPH) each
Total: 16 x 6 = 96

1x SP SAM battery (6 M113-type APCs with RBS-70) each
Total: 16 x 6 = 96

Is the 1st time I see a T56 85mm field gun in PAK service, and M115 203mm is operational.

this is the thing: are we counting the type 59s twice? once as t 59 and another time as AZs? or are they separate? also, that is not a very good force (both in quality and in quantity). only AKs and t80s are somewhat modern and capable, and those are in limited numbers.

Neither PA operates 85mm field guns, nor does POF manufacture the ammo.
It is Chinese manufactured 130mm.

this is the thing: are we counting the type 59s twice? once as t 59 and another time as AZs? or are they separate? also, that is not a very good force (both in quality and in quantity). only AKs and t80s are somewhat modern and capable, and those are in limited numbers.

PA had 1100+ Type 59's and Soviet T-55's. All T-55's were converted to Al-Zarrar and so were 450+ Type 59's.
I am not counting them twice.

No its not!
Its a D-44 85mm made in China as Type-56
Look at its sise (small), muzzle-brake etc
