Jharkhand teacher asks students to learn national anthems of Pakistan, Bangladesh; kicks up row

These are nice songs no doubt but these are not ideal for national anthem. The national anthem should be pumping adrenaline through your veins and therefore need to be fast paced.

You should have this as your national song.

Dwijendralal Roy song would have been better. I wonder, what will be the reaction of our great BAL asset @Atlas for telling the truth. He will tag me Pakistani but will not tag Mujib who ended his 7 March speech with Joy Pakistan. This is history.
When did I tag you as Pakistani? You are neither Pakistani nor Indian ,you are actually ,a Bangladeshi fifth columnist , and a pathological liar who always love to fabricate people's messages .

And also a bohurupi girgiti who everytime change color .

I get that side of it too for sure.

Personally I have always felt Indian national anthem should have been "saare jahan se accha"...it has much better pace and structure and sound to it, you can make a faster paced one easily etc (like lataji's version)....lyrics are sound and direct. I guess politically the problem was the author.... sad legacy of our region comes in way again.

Which song/poem do you have in mind for BD anthem btw? Maybe a action-oriented one from your Kazi nazrul? There are some faster paced ones there for sure.

Nothing beat Jono Gono Mono! It's perfectly composed so that any one can sing with out any musical knowledge/skill.

I'd not mind some of the Russian songs!:enjoy:

On topic, there is nothing wrong introducing national anthems form other countries as part of language / tradition/ customs study.
But teaching anthem to Kindergarten students :hitwall::hitwall: please leave the kids alone and let them enjoy their childhood.

Personally, i don't think that the singing the BD anthem in India should invite the wrath of the authorities. The composition by the INDIAN legend is perfectly ok to be recited, or sung as a Rabindrasangeet. In fact, i have heard Bengalis in my state too singing it on a couple of occassions, also i believe that it has been used a lot in movies and music albums. The Pakistani one, OTOH, is a strict no-no, and performing it should lead to some broken bones and a stint in the prison.

LoL

What a fail!

Your sare jahan se accha was written by none other than Allama Iqbal.

Jharkhand: Principal suspended for making students learn national anthem of Pakistan, Bangladesh

RANCHI: The school administration of St. Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir at Ghatshila in Jamshedpur has suspended the Principal Sanjay Mallick for making students learn the national anthem of Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Class teacher Shaila Parveen had given home projects to the Kindergarten students on WhatsApp to learn and practice national anthems of Pakistan and Bangladesh on July 7 and 8.

The teacher had also shared the lyrics and YouTube videos of national anthems of the two neighbouring countries in the school WhatsApp group of students for the online classes being held in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The project work, however, was removed after the opposition raised by parents.

“Committee has taken a strong note of the incident and the principal has been made to apologize before the parents and withdrawn such project work immediately. Further, the committee has suspended the Principal on Sunday itself,” informed the school management committee. The committee and school family sincerely regret the incident and would like to assure that such things would never happen in the future, it added.

The matter came into the light after BJP leaders twitted the matter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, State Education Minister, and East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner on Sunday after parents protested the move by the school.

“A probe has been initiated following directions from the senior officers which will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner,” said Sub-Divisional Officer Amar Kumar.

District Education Officer Shivendra Kumar Deo also asserted that the Deputy Commissioner has directed them to submit the report within 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Principal Sanjay Mallick, who claims to be an ex-IAF personnel, said that it was just to improve general knowledge of the children.

“The project work was given only to improve the general knowledge of the students while preparing them for the International School Award. This is a very normal thing and should not be connected with nationality or religion,” said Mallick. The matter is unnecessarily been highlighted, he added.

BJP state spokesperson Kunal Sarangi has demanded strict action against the school saying teaching young children national anthem of other countries was absolutely not acceptable.

“This is absolutely not acceptable as it is an attempt to manipulate young minds,” said Sarangi. If action is not taken against the school, this will become a dangerous trend, he added.

Do females in Bollywood ever.... I mean ever once ever ever....just pause and ask themselves the glaringly obvious question - am I being exploited for how much I can jiggle my bosom in this video I am about to shoot?

Bollywood has a lot to do with the general depravity in Indian society. It is an expression of normalised hypersexualisation. The thing is - it never used to be as such until the last twenty years. If one puts nationalistic confounding factors to one side, Bollywood was very acceptable until a certain point in time.

I think Hindus and Bollywood have always been like that. No wonder they wrote Kamasutra. Hindus are primitive and uncivilized people. Nudity is not prohibited for them and they keep roaming nude all the time.

This is from 1960

These nude sexual poses on their temples, They call it women empowerment. :hitwall:

I respect the opinion you have. I love Jono Gono Mono too btw....its a great choice for an anthem....and the natural "compromise" candidate given taranah-e-hindi and Vande Mataram both have issues for acceptance. I don't see any others at the level+prevalence to be picked from.

Its just slight personal preference from my end to my personal aesthetic.

But teaching anthem to Kindergarten students

was it kindergarten level?

I remember we learned our first poems and songs in primary school. Amar Shonar Bangla can definitely be treated as poem of Tagore that has been adopted as anthem by BD. There's no harm. It's lyrics are quite phenomenal.

Hey got more info about the issue. It's nothing burger. People are unnecessarily adding to top line to pharma companies i.e raising their BP.

Honestly, BD has a magnificent and poignant national anthem....stirs the heart. I would be in favour of it being taught at school in India at some juncture in the curriculum, simply to get more idea of depth of Tagore's expansive body of work beyond political borders.

I like the Pakistani anthem aesthetically too (personally), but political realities means there's going to be major trouble if a school pushes that.

Teacher should have tasked just BD anthem here if you ask me...as part of Tagore study.

Some BJP thug would likely have had issue with that anyway, sad.

Paaaak Saaarzameeeen shaaahabaaad....

I like it man lol.
BD amthem was adopted by BD after the death of tagore...it was written glorifying bengal..india also has bengal...so many sanskrit words in it.
But pak national anthem is different altogether...it is parsi and we dont have any affiliation with it either culturally or religiously

You wrote it from memory? Impressed.
Whats so impressive in tht man? You would read your anthem for 12 years in school..cant you recite jana gana mana from memory?
