Jf17 and Mig 35 remain the only options being evaluated for increasing interest: Argentine air force

Shouldn't PAC team also had accompanied them? Both countries have 50% stake in the fighter.

Or is there an arrangement that both countries can independently market, manufacture and sell?

In case each country is allowed to sell independently, shouldn't the name be FC1 and not JF17 Thunder as that name is property of PAC?
PAC share is 52 % and CAC share is 48 %, whoever sell profit will be shared

CATIC's official visit began with the offer of JF-17 to Argentina
The visit has planned different work days and visits in the Argentine military industrial complex.

As we anticipated from the Military Zone , the Chinese delegation made up of envoys from the CATIC firm began their official visit to Argentina. The delegation will integrate personnel from both the Ministry of Defense and the Argentine Air Force in different technical work sessions that focus on a specific proposal: the JF-17.

The official visit had its first step on Friday of last week, with its arrival in the country and initial contacts. Only from today did the official agenda of the delegation begin, which will include various visits to facilities in the country and related to the aeronautical world.

According to official sources, the sessions include different activities centralized in the Air Force Circle, as well as visits to nerve centers in the country related to the defense industry. In this sense, a visit to FADEA and Rio Cuarto, in the Province of Córdoba, is expected soon.

The CATIC firm's proposal to Argentina, which was raised both to the force itself and to the defense portfolio, includes the offer of 12 newly manufactured JF-17 combat aircraft. Of the total number of aircraft, 10 are single seater and another 2 are two seater.

Although cofabrication or assembly has not yet been discussed, it is estimated that the visits to Córdoba will be carried out with the objective of surveying the country's industrial capacities to face a similar challenge.

The JF-17 is currently competing with Russian aircraft to position itself as the replacement for the Mirage weapons system , decommissioned in 2015 and which led Argentina to lose its supersonic interception capability.

Although not formalized, the force seeks that for the closure of the current management Argentina will find a signed contract and sustained steps to incorporate the most important capacity that an air force has.

Are they offering block II or block III?

Every day I come across nations weaker than Pakistan displaying so much superiority and racism towards Paksitanis.

JF17 is in their interest and their budget. But I'm sure their bias lies with the Russians.

But die to CAATSA they might just buy from Pakistan.

What do people know about Pakistan or Pakistanis? We don't engage with people very much and we certainly don't engage positively very often on social media.

If you only knew of Pakistan what the international media shows - how much respect would you have.

This sale is an opportunity for Pakistani people to positively engage with Argentinians.

The Falkland Islands are around 900 to 1000km from the Argentine mainland. Not sure about the bases. Remember watching a documentary about the war and this was a significant problem for their jets in the war. I wonder if that would affect the chances of JF17. May need to consider air refueling capabilities also.

Do they still want the Falklands? As in fight a war for it?

My primary concern about competition with MIG-35 is that MIG is desperate for sales and Russia may resort to kooky tactics to gain an advantage, like choking engine export. If the Argentina deal originally requires RD-93 engines and the Russians deny export, China could fill in with WS-13 but that may result in reevaluation and a whole host of other complications.

If there is a contract of X number of engines already signed between Russia and China, that can't be violated.

Would the engine deal be signed before or after the tender or does that not matter? Admittedly I’m not familiar with how the contact works.

IMO ... if those are the finalists, then I think the JF-17 will win. Why? CAATSA. I don't think Argentina will test the US over CAATSA by buying from Russia.
Sir,
I have been following the threads on Argentina's depleting economy and the requirement to procure modern military equipment. The desire to win the Falkland Island back militarily is one of the foremost requirement, there was an article that I read a few years back when the Royal British Navy retired their only aircraft carrier it is now or never for the Argentine armed forces.

The Argentine Airforce over the years tried to find an alternate for their aging Mirage III's and always lost to either US or European parts. Hence considering the JF-17 / FC-1 it would be really difficult for PAC to provide an aircraft without 100% parts or licensed equipment or components having patents or trademark in Europe or America.

One question that comes to my mind is the weapons package that would be selected as Argentina is not on ideal terms with Brazil and potential effects on Brazil - Pakistan Relations specially in light of MAR1 anti radiation missile.

No doubt after Brazil Airforce procurement and manufacturing of JAS Gripen Argentinian's are lacking in defensive capabilities not just against UK but also Brazil.
