ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is looking for buyers for the JF-17 Thunder multi-role fighter jets it has co-produced with China.

An official told Dawn on Saturday that funds generated through the sale of the combat aircraft would be used in efforts to modernise Pakistan Air Force which was already emerging as a potent outfit with the recent induction of force multipliers.

I hope that helps,

Also, JF-17 at Dubai Airshow , lets hope :).

actually it's not the contribution which is the question here ,.. the question here is about 50% partnership....you must be having some idea on it...

They contributed 50% of the cost and many Pakistanis Engineers and advisors worked in Chengdu. There are several good documentaries on this but unfortunately all of them are in Chinese. I'll try to get photographs when I have time.

you really have no idea what your talking about. FC-1 is the generic production code and JF-17 is the official name given to it. They are the same thing, its like saying Flanker or the SU-30, different people call it different names. JF-17 or FC-1 both patents are owned by the Chinese who have the sole right to sell the jet.

According to avic officials explain the joint project of jft with pak: “joint investment .joint development .joint share in profits and losses.joint interests”

surely we will wait for it , infect most of the members here on PDF waiting for it since long , any article from China Daily , i think that will put this debate to rest forever..

China and Pakistan, members of the members. We do not need to discuss this member and India is no common sense and significance of the topic. JF-17 is co-funded the development of China and Pakistan, of course, the sales profit is 50% each.
This is clearly a member of the Indian provocation. We ignore them on the line.

i find this article on china daily which will help to ease some doubt about JV on FC-1/JF-17..
as i was thinking for long , this aircraft is not a 50-50 joint-development venture but a joint-production venture betweenthe two counties..
i think members knows the difference between joint-development & joint-production ...

China in talks to sell fighter jets to 8 countries

"China is in talks about selling the FC-1 fighter jet to eight countries, Flightglobal.com reported Wednesday.

According to the website, Zeng Wen, vice-president of the China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation (CATIC), revealed they are in discussions with up to eight countries about sales of FC-1 (Fighter-China-1), or Xiaolong. But he declined to name which countries.

Potential buyers include Egypt, Sri Lanka and Venezuela, according to the website. The Chinese PLA Air Force could also be a potential customer.

It also said Pakistan has confirmed orders for 50 FC-1s. And Zeng believes the eventual sale will reach 200 due to its low cost.

FC-1, or JF-17 Thunder in Pakistan, is a Pakistan-China joint production designed as a replacement for several existing types of fighter jets including RSK Mic-21, Dassault Mirage 5, Northrop F-5 as well as the homemade Nanchang A-5 and Chengdu F-7. "

i think some chinese member can put more light on the whole isuue of 50% each ..
but intrestingly whenever this question cameup for disscussion , chinese members preffer to ignore the issue and it just became a debate between indians and pakistani members...intresting !!

It has been discussed a million times that it was a project for PAF and PAF invested in it with 50% share and 50% by Catic. Now Why would chinese start a project when their own Airforce does not need it, It was in 1998 when pakistan joined the project this aircraft became reality otherwise PLAAF had already opted for J10. Its simple logic that you indian just don't want to understand, or you people are here for posting nonsense and nothing else. there have been picture posted on this forum of Pakistani Airforce Officials with the chinese engineers working on this project when it was in the initial development stages. houshanghai
had posted some pictures few days ago as well, but you indian genious members are here for just nonsense posting and derailing the threads. You people should better focus on which country is selling you what part of LCA, better count number of countries having share in LCA.

Another thread being ruined jst to satisfy some egos ,let them people ,even if you will provide them with official words still they will find sumthng else to argue, creating a mountain out of a mole is the one thng they are best at

I had previous experiences with this desiman n believe me he is not going to accept your arguments no matter you try to death to prove him your point, he is among those guys who say ''the crow is white and then keep defending it with bogus statements'' he is a guy with so much of posts but very little intelligence , i wonder how he can survive for so long on this forum ,where many knowledgeable members have been banned forever but people like him are still wondering around

Put question marks on the banning criteria, i think the mod should also look for banning those members who keep on persisting with same point over a span of years despite of getting authentic and well balanced counter arguments

IF I take your argument, Brahmos would be sold by russians giving India 0 profile although India spent 50% in its development. But we know its not the case.. your argument of China keeping the whole profit from sales doesn't make little sense.

Mr are you really deaf or Dumb? Someone rightly said here you are satisfying your ego that's all. Houshangai, gave you the link of AVIC (Aviation Industry Co-operation of China) website, open that website in google chrome, translate it in English, and read the second line of Paragraph

Xiaolong / FC-1 aircraft, the China Aviation Industry Corporation, organized in Chengdu, Chengdu Aircraft Corporation and China Aviation Technology Corporation and other major reference research units, the spirit of "joint investment, joint development, sharing risks and sharing benefits

does it says 50-50...

Holy Mother of Crap. Did you check the last Page, where i gave the reference of 50-50 co-operation. go read the history of JF-17 and then came and debate with us.

Guys, don't argue with the Indians. Its useless.

Let the day come when the first order is placed, that would be the day all the Indians would get shut up.

Indians said we have no CFTs with F-16s and then we saw the CFTs on PAF F-16s.

Indians said JF-17 is not BVR capable and just recently we saw FC-1/JF-17s flying with PL-12s, even though they were BVR capable much before that, similarly CFTs were there much before we saw it.

Indians said we don't have the A-100s, and then we saw them recently in PA service.

So, let them say whatever they want, this is their way to satisfy their ego.

Don't waste your energies on them.
