there is st.thomas christians(Nasrani) who were converts from jews and sanatana dharmic people in Kerala. they have their earlier bishops from persia called mar addai and maari and their liturgy until 1950s were in the language Syriac . the ancient bible of st.thomas christians and any clue of their old history were destroyed under goan inquisition(portuegese forcing roman catholicism on native eastern christians). st.thomas christians for sure, have hindu customs, can be said they are hindus with christian belief until western christianity arrived in kerala,India. no, they don't look like middle easterners.

The apocrypha book "Acts of St. Thomas' mentions about his connection with the Indian King. Till the middle of the 19th century even the existence of such a king was legendary.
