I was in mysore when rajkumar died...... It was in the first or second week of april just before Vishu....... I remember the trouble i faced during that time...... It was horrible....... I was almost got beaten by a mob while i was restaurant, (those restaurant guys some how saved us from them)

very same thing happened when Kannada superstar 'Vishnuvardhan' died...and the days when rajkumar kidnapped by veerappan(danganakka for Karnataka Tamils)...

Tamils are Tamilians. They form one of the five states in South India each with their own unique language, culture and cuisine. And they are all Indian.

Tamils look no different from others in the south IMO. The appearance of North-East Indians are also vastly different.

This puts things in to perspective. Especially to those who are in denial that TN is exceptional when it comes to hero worship and personality cults and suicide

in terms of suicide, to be fair, Kerala is close behind.

a large proportion of suicides has to do with pressure to perform academically.

During the SSLC exams, there is a spike in suicides.

Hell, it was common for many students in Kerala to take their life when they got a B+ instead of an A grade, because of the shame.

Well the psychi of the people in this case is different , as the lady being worshipped in the picture was a former movie star ,she was a movie super star from the age of black and white movies .Back then film actors were considered to be gods among people and the gullible movie goers literally believed the things in movies to be true(1960's era) ,as it was one of the few forms of entertainment.But all that has changed now,mass media,social media has put the propagandas of old times to rest.Back then movie stars who are worshipped as gods enter politics (as the one in the picture) , they literally become overnight leaders without any credentials (well ...it was all back then)

Jayalalitha is a Tamil Brahmin,though born in Karnataka....There are lot of Tamil population both ethnic and immigrants in Karnataka state...In fact Tamils form around 30% in Bangalore city alone....

Seems strange but political leaders enjoy god like stature in certains states like TN & AP. Some leaders do make a difference in the lives of poor people and such people worship leaders who touched their lives. When YS Rajshekar Reddy died in a chopper crash 100s of people committed suicide in AP

thankfully this disease is limited to AP and TN. the elite among Southern States !!

I live in Hyderabad, people in South India seems normal, but yes the craziness for movies are bewildering with Tamils and Telugus, particularly Telugus, they watch Telugu movies, Hindi movies and even dubbed Tamil movies and still the Telugu film industry has the largest turnover in entire south India.

Actually around 17% Tamilnadu peoples are telegus or had telegu ancestry....Mostly all main stream politicos including karunanidi,vijayakanth,vaiko etc are telegus...Sadly,They are the main ones,who are fooling these Tamil masses...

a quick search on google revealed that karunanidhi & vaiko were born in TN , so i don't know what you are talking about .
