Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that his party’s sit-in suspending NATO supplies and protests against the US drone strikes were not aimed at political point-scoring but meant to help the country get rid of the so-called war on terror which has shaken the ideological basis of the country besides putting our sovereignty and stability at stake.
He stated this while talking to media persons on the occasion of PTI’s sit-in at Peshawar Ring Road for closure of the NATO supplies.
Javed Hashmi said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman should realise the fact that he will get nothing by his continuous propaganda against the KP government, instead he should join the PTI protests and sits-in which is the desire of every loyal Pakistani citizen.
“the JUI-F will be welcomed wholeheartedly if it intends to join protests for a noble cause which was not an issue of a single political party but question of survival of the entire nation”, he added.
He said that the PTI sit-in has sent message across the whole world that masses of Pakistan want an end to the unjustified drone attacks and the US interference in internal affairs of the country.
Javed Hashmi said drone strikes kill majority of innocent civilians including women and children and have been condemned and declared illegal across the globe.
