Whats your problem idune? Dint TaimiKhan told not to turn this into a bashing thread? So whats your intention of posting some 3 yr old news? If you want to report the rapes in India then I think greyboy2 has a dedicated thread for that, please do post in that. But I think he already googled all incidents and posted there so you may not find anytthing new to post there.

@topic: really shameful incident. At one side we broadcast all over the globe "Incredible India" and when some people come to see the Incredible India, some stupid fellas do this. I can only hang my head in shame.

This is the extreme case but I think foreigners do get harassed and molested and those reports dont get reported. The police and authorities should be more careful in future and we as the citizen should stand for the brand we are trying to make "Incredible India"

Dont you think thats a bad way to look at things? Instead of trying to uproot the evil we are looking for workarounds ( like not going out in night or party). Why foreigners cant party till midnight? Whats wrong with that? Why cant people be safe and protected?

In Germany I have seen many girls returning home alone at 2 am 3 am in the morning and drunk, but nothing ever happens, everyone is safe. Why we cant have that level of security

No difference...... If a girl is Raped and Killed Then he faces Life Imprisonment or Hanged to Death.... But in a foreigners case the embassy will be contacted... Punishment is the same

Well if tourist don't go to pakistan and bangladesh wat we can do. It can happen anywhere. Atleast it was reported. In some countires these things never reported than they start feel that they live in paradise.

I just can't understand the mentality of these sick rapists. What is the cause that the don't even think before committing such crimes.
Rapes and crimes against women are certainly on a rise in India. So many more go unreported.
I feel rape laws in the country need to be hardened. I feel rape deserves death.
OR is the problem much more broader than that? I feel our society does not know how to respect women. Its all because of lack of education. Most of the sections of society are to be blamed here. The government should use the media to uproot this evil, something like they did for AIDS awareness.
