Is this the rebirth of fascism or rather the flourish of the never-dead-fascism in Japan? First Abe denied invading Asian neighbors in WWII, and now they are saying what America did in WWII to save Asia-Pacific was against humanitarian principles? Those Japanese had long lost 'humanity' before America tried to end the war, no wonder the current crop of Japanese politicians (and whoever is supporting them) have no shame left now.

A document released by the Japanese government says that the bombing of Tokyo by the United States in 1945 was against the “humanitarian principles of international law”. The document was endorsed by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in response to a question filed by Mizuho Fukushima, leader of the opposition Social Democratic Party and an Upper House member.

However, the document does not directly criticize the US for their actions, only saying that there are varied opinions on whether or not the US acted in direct violation of international law during that time. It just mentions that at the time, the Japanese government filed a protest with the US government after the bomb raid that killed a little over 100,000 people in what is considered as the worst and deadliest single air raid of World War II. The US claims that the war with Japan during that time was being fought against fascism.

On March 10, 1945, around 330 American B-29s dropped incendiary bombs on Tokyo, in what was codenamed Operation Meetinghouse. The firestorm razed to the ground almost a quarter of the city and left more than a million people homeless. More air raids followed in April and May, but none as destructive as this one. Five months after the March raid, the Japanese surrendered to the US forces, leading to the end of World War II.

In one bombing raid usa used napalm against a city which was built of wood and they didn't used 1 or 2 bomb in the first raid they used 174 b29 plane filled with incendiary bombs next month on the night of 9 and 10 of march of 1945 they filled 334 b29 plane with napalm and bombed tokyo with that ther result of that bombing was immediate death of 97000 person injury of more than 100000 and around 1000000 people lost their home .

Now if that bombing was not a crime against humanity I don't know what you can call it.

The Japanese were no angels; much of the world remembers the Rape of Nanking where over a quarter million civilians died.

The standards of the time accepted mass bombings of cities. That the Japanese could endure such a destruction of their capital and still remain gung-ho for war was a reason why Americans assessed that a U.S. invasion of their homelands would be necessary to defeat Japan and casualties for such an invasion would be numbered in the millions. The two atomic bomb attacks shocked Japan into surrender and were mercy by comparison - and they killed fewer Japanese than the Tokyo firebombing did.

Human experiment akso is against all values but one crime can't justify anither crime
Like clearing minefields with young boys? In any case it looks like the Japanese wanted to use real bullets while everyone else used nerf-guns. Oh no, they're fighting back! Is that allowed?

I know enough about the bombing of Tokyo. After the Japanese killed and slaughtered tens of million innocent people and burnt numerous cities to ground in Asia-Pacific, they forced U.S. to bomb Tokyo to stop these warmongering fascists from killing. In short, they were responsible for the bombing of their cities and they certainly deserved it.

Many regrettable things were committed in times of war. The Japanese were responsible for a great deal of injury to allied soldiers and territories that were subjugated by the "Greater East Asian Co Prosperity Sphere".

The casualities on the U.S side would have been lot more if US had not bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. For example, in 1945 various fightings happened in islands like Iwo Jima, Borneo, Okinawa and in the battle to liberate Okinawa alone which happened between April and June, the American casualities were more than 80,000 not to mention the civilian deaths which were more than 150,000.

So imagine the casualties fighting for other Japanese islands would have been - Why should U.S lose the brave soldiers if it had a powerful arsenal?

There is little question that Japanese militarism is making a comeback. The United States assisted Osama bin Laden, and now it is assisting Japan. Let's see how this will turn out.

Absolutely. We were supposed to use the atom bombs on Nazi Germany, however, Berlin had collapsed. Imperial Japan refused to accede to unconditional surrender. Hence the decision to test the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

No doubt American establishment have a history of being war criminals, and still are. the genocide in hiroshima nagasaki are but one example. can you imagine innocent little children and civilians being evaporated into thin air, by the lakhs? the birth defects that america caused, you see a mirror of it repeated in Iraq. we all have skeletons in our closet, but does that make the biggest mafia kingpin of past century any less inexcusable? deep questions that need to be answered.

Genocide in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Why do you want to use a word when you have no clue what it even means? To bring dis-honor to your nation's educational establishment? And if you are Pakistani....ask your Chinese all weather friends about how sweet the Japanese were.

When you by policy and action place your self out side all rules and norms of humanitarian behavior to then claim that those you murdered and tortured did not treat you by the very code you rejected holds no value.

Historian Mitsuyoshi Himeta reports that a "Three Alls Policy" (Sankō Sakusen) was implemented in China from 1942 to 1945 and was in itself responsible for the deaths of "more than 2.7 million" Chinese civilians. This scorched earth strategy, sanctioned by Hirohito himself, directed Japanese forces to "Kill All, Burn All, and Loot All." Additionally, captured allied service personnel were massacred in various incidents, including:

Banka Island massacre[45]
Parit Sulong
Palawan Massacre
