Come on buddy. Currently we spend less than 0.9% on our GDP for national defense. No comparison. The truth is Japan doesn't even put too much resources for defense. We dont even spend 1% on GDP on defense, come on. Now if Japan was like American and spent 4% on GDP on national defense --- that would put it at $240 Billion per annum --- then that's when you would start to worry, lol.
But as it stands we spend more on social services for our senior citizens , and on pensions than on national defense. lol.

you spend 1%, we spend 1.2%, i say that's hardly cause for alarm right? so whats with the china threat theory lol?
Besides if you calculate per capita spending Japan is 401 USD while China is only 75 USD.
