Japan launches a new Guided Missile Destroyer, the JS Fuyuzuki

. .
Imagine how a Kaijo Jieitai Combined Strike Fleet would look like. Centered on the 2 Izumo Class, the 2 Hyuga Class Light Carriers. And surrounding them the 4 Atago Class Guided Missile Destroyer, the 4 Kongo Class Guided Missile Destroyer, the 4 Akizuki Class Guided Missile Destroyer (+2), the 5 Takanami Class Guided Missile Destroyer, the 2 Hatakaze Class Guided Missile Destroyer, the 9 Murasame Class Guided Missile Destroyer, the 8 Asagiri Class Guided Missile Destroyer, the 12 Hatsuyuki Class Guided Missile Light Destroyer. In close support would be the 2 Shirane Class Destroyers, and the 2 Haruna Class Destroyers. :azn:

In Flanking support, would be some 22 Soryu and Oyashio Class subs interspersed around the fleet. Then imagine, on top of our Light Carriers would be the feared F-35BIIs.

To the untrained eye, it would seem as if the Nihon Kaigun Rengo Kantai (Combined Fleet of the Imperial Japanese Navy) has been resurrected.... ;)

He he he, together, who could dare challenge the full might of the US Navy and the Kaijo Jieitai ?

:)

Construction of a 5th ship of the Akizuki Class ? Seems that the JMSDF , indeed, is planning to increase the number of ships in this class.... ;)

When China is on the rise, we fear not Japan.
Lool ok, then why do you protests/make noise when Japan hints it will change/modify its constitution to become a normal country?:cheesy: The truth is, Japan sure has what it takes to be a match to China(forget about the U.S who is on a totally different league as of now).
I do agree that in few decades from now, the gap between China and Japan will only grow too big for Japan to stand a chance against China, but as of now, Japan can sure match be a match to China, and more.:agree: They do have some good toys believe me, especially their Navy. So you ought ot fear them.:bounce:

I would prefer it that both the Chinese and Japanese sides learn to respect each other. Fear would be the wrong word to use. Respect and cooperation, i would prefer.

Very diplomatic, as long Japan meets certain criteria bilateral ties could be improved. The stakes are too high for japan if it chooses the wrong path.

 I know you are a Japanophile but really since when do we fear the Japanese Navy? You need to look at the big picture including our PLA/PLAAF/2nd artillery forces in case of a war. I believe it's Japan that should be the one to fear us and i can assure you they do ;)

It is in no one's interest to have a war or any conflict in East Asia. And war is , in my honest opinion, a forgone conclusion that represents a zero-sum path. We Japanese and our Chinese brothers are built on compromise. Long gone are the days that threats can be used. Japan and China are too richly linked that a deviation or conflict would affect the entire region.

A war in Northeast Asia serves neither Japan's or China's interests. It would benefit others who would wish to see the demise of the East Asia Tigers. So, naturally, we have to be realistic. Grounded.

Besides, China and Japan have had ties for over 2 thousand years, majority of Sino-Japanese chronology has been one of peace, and development. Remember, even before there was a Roman Empire, there already was direct trade between what is now present day China and present day Japan. May the next 2 thousand years be focused on trade, development and peace.

Stop this nefarious talk.

Nothing nefarious, just a reminder to our British friend here that his Japan cheerleading talks against China isn't gonna evolve. You of all people understand the importance of a friendly relationship with China is in Japan's best interest.
