What's new

Japan is very angry! China Indonesia high speed railway is about to be completed, why not India?

. .
Well, from the Indonesia side, the project is also not easy as it sounds.

But thanks goodness, it's finished.

We also have delays, first because of Covid, and second is freeing the land.

Choosing China is perhaps the right thing to do.

First, they have the best HSR train in the world.

Second, building the railway is equally difficult as building the HSR train, especially in difficult climate and geographic conditions.

Just look at China's condition, from mountains, to desert, to tundra. I can say China is building HSR lines in almost every geographic condition, and China is an expert, as they did it.

I think this is one factor why China was able to complete the project fast, they know what to do in Indonesia, as they did it before in their home country.

. .
With this energy crisis and high inflation, Indian project will likely get more expensive to complete. Completing the project sooner is indeed something that is a bless after what we are seeing with the world Today where Russia as important energy supplier country get sanction from NATO countries.

There is good news for HSR program. The MRT Lebak Bulus line has already got South Korean as investor and they will connect it to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) where there is LRT project going on conducted by Indonesians SOE consortium that should be finished in late 2023 that will have station in Halim (HSR station in Jakarta is only in Halim )

MRT Lebak Bulus

TMII is Jakarta tourism land mark, together with Monas, Dufan Ancol, and Ragunan zoo, all of them will get connected to MRT, LRT, and BRT system that is interconnected to each other. Many residents in Bandung will also get easier to get to Jakarta by this HSR line.

TMII

Ragunan Zoo

This HSR line will likely boost Jakarta and Bandung tourism sector which is at this moment is still lacking from foreign tourists.

Example of Bandung tourist site

When we put Banten province as tourism triangle of Banten-Jakarta-Bandung where in Banten we have ecotourism with large tropical forest and beautiful beach which is comparable with the ones seen in Bali, then I think this is the economic effect of this HSR Jakarta-Bandung line that would be for Indonesia.

Tanjung Lesung beach, Banten

The line, how ever, will not open new city development between Jakarta and Bandung as this HSR system is not MRT or LRT with cheap ticket price. There is previous plan to develop Halimun as new city but the plan is abandoned.

You expect Indian to be happy?

Too much democracy and right for many individuals to go to court and useless opposition are the main reason. When Shiv sena government was in power, they did not show any enthusiasm in land acquisition which resulted in slow progress in Maharashtra.

. .
In fact, the efficiency gap between Chinese enterprises and Japanese enterprises is not large. The biggest gap comes from the Indonesian people and government, who are far more excellent and modern than India.

In particular, the Zoko government in Indonesia has been highly praised by Chinese enterprises for their courage in facing difficulties and their spirit of responsibility. This is an excellent government rarely seen in other countries. The cooperation between the two sides is very pleasant.

BTW: We are very grateful to the Indian government for choosing Japanese enterprises over Chinese enterprises. This is our luck.

We don't need to build HSR just because chingchongs did it, their rail is 1 trillion dollars in debt.

They built it due to massive inferiority complex - like look, we have the tiniest heights and dicks and muscle mass in the world so look at our HSR . HSR is not feasible in India or anywhere in the world apart from 4-5 routes. Dedicated freight corridor is way more important, that should be expanded massively.

Indonesians are also struggling to pay off the cost of HSR. these idiots will also go the Sri lankan and Pakistani way.

Read this..

HSR is a total money sink - 4-5 times more expensibe than normal rail and can't transport freight. Let the chingchongs build it, i hope they triple their network :D

Indian Julab, dont drag China in everything in your discussion of the problem in your shithole country.

Read this. The article is more relevant to the US rather than India, but hard to ignore many of the key points.

There is a widespread illusion among Indians, Indians always think they can make right judgments better than Chinese.

However, the slums throughout India obviously do not support Indian fantasies.

The gap in reality tells us that Chinese people can hardly make mistakes in their judgments, but Indian, the opposite is true.

. . .
Yes yes, Great leap forward was a brilliant judgement, only like 60 million got wiped out
Yes. The Great Leap Forward killed about 15 million people. At the same time, the Great Leap Forward has also brought China's industrial base and modern agricultural facilities. This is also an important reason why China can finally become an industrialized country ahead of India.

I am not interested in debating whether this is a wrong judgment. At least China has lost and gained.

During the COVID period, India caused 4 million deaths due to wrong judgments, which is 30% of the death toll of the Great Leap Forward, but India did not gain anything. The deaths of Indians are worthless.
