Japan, India to discuss military plane sales

BD is going to offer some aircraft by 2021 according to Hasina madam. India could make a inquiry about it and see if that meet their requirement.

:offpost:

you mean underwears with pictures of aircraft in it?

There's a plan:
She hoped that the centre would make prototype of light aircrafts by 2021. "I also hope that you would one day make aircraft, helicopters and radars in the country."
Remain ever ready to protect sovereignty, PM asks air force

I think this is not worth need of a time considering its price tag of around $100 mn and our priorities. But seems, Japan is playing the US game, if you want "that" buy "this" from us…"that" is nothing but the long due nuclear deal!

.
Think this is for the navy as they were looking for amphibious planes to be used from our island territories in Lakshadweep and A&N

Actually ICG had interest in amphibious aircrafts at first, IN and IAF (for whatever reasons) joint later and especially for SAR operations alongside our vast coastline, these aircrafts would make sense in a combined offer. The $99 million are a pretty big one though, if the same or even a higher price tag would be offered to India, one should think about if such a costly toy is necessary and for which force is it necessary?

Brochure here..

But heck! Only 4 have been built so far for the Japanese Navy! I wonder how long it would take them to build a squadron worth for the IN? I bet it's not just for 'civilian' use! Can it be modified to carry Brahmos missiles, one each mounted on the sides of the fuselage? :what:

Of course not, they would be under water during take off and most likely will be too heavy anyway, not to mention that Japan sells us them unarmed, which is the only way they can sell us anything according to their laws.
