Japan focuses on Pakistan for technology transfer-Express Tribune

Thanks for tagging.

Pakistan we know is a large and fast developing country, business opportunities are abundant. Demand for technology to is also huge.

Japan:
  • Since more than two decades ago, she has replaced US and become the largest creditor nation in the world, till nowadays. As of end March 2016, Japan's net international position (net external asset) still tops the world, far exceeding the next 8 followers (China Mainland, Germany, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Norway, Switzerland, Singapore and Saudi Arabia). Primary investment destinations have been the Americas, APAC rim and EU, it's time for Japan to increase weight of Pakistan is her portfolio.
  • Japan has always been a tech powerhouse. In WIPO's Global Top 100 (see below link), an over-whelming 55 companies came from Japan. Among the top 10, there were 7 Japanese companies in which Panasonic tops the rank, others were 2 Korean and 1 US companies.
It's very natural for the deep-pocket Japanese capitalists and tech-rich industrialists to seek more business in a fast growing Pakistan. Good luck everyone!

there is no friend bro only interest correct me if i wrong

btw nice development... :-) more investment mean more stability

Japan over the years hasn't got the returns that were to be expected from a country like Pakistan my brother, but they continued to invest, even when other countries ran away. That's a friend to me.

..waiting for an Indian member to chime in with a negative comment to knock our morale down a peg.

Japan has always been more donor than investor in Pakistan. The loans to FDI ratio is in high 90s. And this news itself shows that they do more lip service than serious business.

CPEC is mostly loans instead of FDI in case you didn't know.

Indeed it is, because energy infrastructure is always very leveraged one. CPEC is dominated by the energy production as first phase is to develop necessary economic infrastructure. Once the infrastructure is in place, then industry may start moving from China to Pakistan which would increase FDI. WIth Japan, there hasn't been any strategic economic relationship. Its mostly been JICA funding the socioeconomic infrastructure and that's about it. Japanese have broadly been avoiding ToT in Pakistan which is why they face tough competition from Chinese products due to increased localization of Chinese maal.

Well if Japanese technology is like Toyota, SuZuki and Honda, no need that will create monoply in Pakistan with expensive cars, bike and SUVs.

We need renewable energy technology, including solar power, wind power and sea wave power. We also need advance agriculture, manufacturing, science & technology, automation, automotive technology.

We want Kawasaki back in Pakistan

Kawasaki new 125 is top notch but with local Assembly it will be very expensive alon with their other bikes.

That's a good news finally we're getting back on track :pakistan:
P.S pls introduce Nissan and Mitsubishi so we can get rid of 3 junk mafia :undecided:

Introducing bullet trains and advance mass transit systems for cities is the way to go, advance countries are now dumping fossil fuel based transportation rapidly.

I think they will do whar they are doing to india. Give us 20 years old tech of transfer.

PTI governments has too much on their plate, even if they work 24 hours a day for next 5 years they won’t be able fix the problems we are facing for last 30 years.

Multi-prong approach is needed to fix the economy while creating laws to catch the corrupt, criminals and extremists elements in our society. Education and Healthcare should be under federal government so National Education policy can be created to fix the education system in the country.
Same can be applied to healthcare.
