Favorite Malls for South Jakartan people

Pondok Indah Mall

Pondok Indah Mall and the surrounding areas, drone view. Taken at Sunday morning, before Mall opening.

Central Jakarta

Istiqlal Mosque and Lapangan Banteng (in rough translation it means Banteng field but IMO it should be translated as Banteng park, Banteng means Buffalo). Jakarta has many parks and lapangan Banteng is one of them. People living in the areas like to do jogging at the park.

Those two places are close to each other.

Kota Tua (Old City)

Mushola (small praying room) in every Indonesian Mall is enough to facilitate shoppers need to pray 5 times a day. Pondok Indah Mall for instant has Mushola in almost every floor with separate Mushola and wudhu facilities between male and female.

Just an example of praying facility in Indonesian mall (Senayan City, South Jakarta)

Gandaria City Mall (South Jakarta)

@Indos I read the news few years ago that Indonesia is planning to relocate the capital city. How is the progress on it? And what is the reason for Indonesia to initiate this idea? Thanks.

In the original plan the construction should begin next year. but because of covid-19 it probably gonna be postponed untill 2022.

The reason is to move the capital city is.

1. lessen Jakarta burden as centre of everything in indonesia

2. make a new economic growth outside java island.

3. Make a capital city that 100% safe from natural disaster
