as all of us know, india's pride A.R Rahman bagged the oscar awards for the song jai ho,in the film "slum dog millionaire".

but,
comparing with the other songs composed by rahman,"jai ho" was the worst.
if jai ho got the oscar, then several other songs of rahman also must be given the oscars.
like:

1.jiya jale

2.omana penne

how many of you agree with me?
i.e.,i agree that jai ho is agood song, but comparing to his other songs, jai ho is nothing

Don't forget songs don't go to oscar, movies do. If these movies were nominated for academy awards then yes you d have a point.

why is that so?
the oscars for songs must be given judging the song only!

They have the Grammy's for that :P

On topic, i have listened to a couple of Rahman's work, and to me, Jai Ho wasn't his best work.

Problem with Tamil songs is that I don't get the lyrics. If you don't understand the lyrics of the song, half the fun is gone.

Only Tamil song I like is Naka Mukka:lol: I heard it first time in a Sydney club! Didn't know it was Indian untill I saw it in World Cup Opening ceremony.

I have heard more of his tamil songs then his hindi songs

Don't understand both languages but i recognize a good beat when i hear one :P

Of course :D Was a very famous song in Malaysia back in the 90's. One of Rahman's better work

Movie wasn't too bad too albeit a bit sad and slow.
