Jackson Heights to be the first Urdu play to air on &Tv Uk
Jackson Heights will air from Monday 5th September at 10 pm on &Tv Uk.

It is always refreshing and great to hear that people from all over the world appreciate Pakistani plays. Of course, a play is not just dependent on one person; there are tons of people involved from producers, writers and directors to actors and spot boys and so forth who make a project successful. And with the team’s effort and hard work, a project manages to gain attention as is the case with Six Sigma Production’s Jackson Heights. This will be the first Urdu drama serial to be aired on a channel called &TV UK.
We are sure you are as confused as we were regarding what exactly &TV UK is. Well, it is UK’s first free South Asian channel which is in HD and it is in collaboration with Zee Tv, derived from the conjunction "&" the channel stands for binding people, ideologies and philosophies. And what better way to practice that than airing a Pakistani drama.

Jackson Heights is directed by Mehreen Jabbar and written by Vasay Chaudhry, and was initially aired on Urdu1. This is an emotional drama which highlights the struggles and follows the lives of the immigrants living in New York City to make a living. The story revolves around Michelle (Marina Khan), Imran Bhatti (Noman Ijaz), Jamshed (Adeel Hussain) and Salma (Aamina Sheikh) who all are trying their best to cope with life in The Big Apple. The show explores their lives and struggle for survival in a foreign land without a family to fulfill their dreams and desires. It’s a beautiful story of love, relationships, friendships and hardships.
In Pakistan, the play received a mix response; some loved it because it stood out from the usual content that was being aired on television whereas for others, the real feel to it did not go down so well. The play we feel will be enjoyed more by viewers in the UK as it is a play with an intelligent script and an outstanding director and group of actors.
