The word "India" is a colonial term, got no ancient historic significance, created by Brits to refer these lands as colonial entity and its colonial subjects as "Indians". No wonder your obsession with foreign masters has not died down and you feel proud to be called Indian and your country India.
Please feel free to go beyond British raj, there was no "India" before British Raj, but there is a small matter of Muslim rule over subcontinent for around about thousand years.
And if you really want to go in ancient history of this region, there is only one empire, one country, one civilization, which our Pakistani ancestors build and sustained for thousands and thousands of years long before Babylonians and Egyptians, called Indus. Which effectively put us as being most ancient of all human race, mother of all human civilization.
