J-7mf is the back of fc-1 just in case if fc-1 fails......... beca there are alot of problem with fc-1......... such over weighted, radar, to big, fuel consuming, short range, high price and etc..........

This fighter is either a upgraded mig-21 (the chinese version). Or it&#39;s a test bed for the chinese intakes or something. But most likely it&#39;s a upgraded version of the chinse mig-21

this it is upgraded verison of j-7........ is in the same class as fc-1 except j-7mf equiped with more mature tech while fc-1 contains the most lastest tech.........

j-7mf is very competetitive.......

J-7 is somewhere in the class of a 3rd gen fighter. With mig-21 etc.

JF-17 is in he class of 4th gen fighter. With f-16 etc.

Eurofighter is in the class of 4.5 gen fighters. With rafale, jas-39, SU-30MKI, su-35/37.

Fa-22 is in the class of a 5th gen fighter. With JSF

u cant possibly compare fc-1 to f-16 coz is totally different types of fighters........

f-16 can compare with j-10, mirage-2000. while fc-1 can compare with LAC

FC-1 is based on the MiG-33 which was rejected by the Soviet Air Force. MiG-33 was a single engined version of MiG-29. Pakistan hopes to buy 150 of them to replace most of its existing air force while the Chinese Air Force does not want to purchase it. Lastest reports say that FC-1 may never enter production - Russia has refused to supply the powerful RD-93 engine. Pakistan has given the FC-1 the &#39;Super-7&#39; designation.

FC-1 has not been flown. Chengdu is working on it though, and models have been displayed at many exhibitions. While FC-1 design itself is not very advanced, the fact is that China will buy many avionics components from outside and hence has the capability of getting the FC-1 into active service much before the LCA. However, recent reports suggest that it might now be replaced by a different design : J-7MF (a Chinese MiG-21 upgrade).

I think what was implied was, Jf-17 is comparable to earlier versions of the F-16 like Block 10, 15 and 20.

Of course the Block 52 and 60 are in a different league than the Thunder.
