A model of the J-20, China’s first stealth fighter, was on show at the World Radar Exhibition held in Beijing between Oct. 16-18. The aircraft is still at the developmental stage and not yet ready for the overseas market, reports the London-based Jane’s Defense Weekly, citing company sources.

The fighter, designed by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group, was on public display for the first time at the exhibition, though the company has yet to comment on whether the aircraft is ready for export or not. An executive of Poly Technologies — a defense manufacturing company and subsidiary of China Poly Group Corporation — said however that the J-20 model was only put on display to show China’s military capability in designing stealth fighters, adding that it is not ready for export.

The state-run Poly Technologies is currently looking to become a “whole system” supplier of military equipment and weapons systems to foreign customers, the report said. Meanwhile, the company source said that an increasing number of nations are looking to buy Chinese aircraft to help modernize their air defense systems.

The source said that China scored an important win after Turkey chose the FD-2000, the export version of China’s HQ-9 surface-to-air missile, over rival bids including the US Patriot and Russian S-300 missile systems. He added that nations are now more confident in Chinese-designed weapons systems and Poly Technologies is currently the only company in China that is able to provide full air defense systems to foreign clients.

I thought the J-20 wasn't even meant for export.

It will take A while for Russian And Chinese to make these aircraft's ready for induction See US started its all 5th gen aircrafts in late 90s And China and Russia they are just starting it

The Indian are desperate post those smearing inaccurate report about Chinese.
You see the title is filled with Janes weekly but when you check from the thread. Its actually an rubbish article from a bogus source.

Wow! J-20 will be available for export? then China may have not shown their top notch plane in making yet, because they may not sale their F-22 equivalent plane like the US, and it is opportunity for Pakistan to get it to bring some parity in air power in the region in future.

If ever exported and purchased by PAF it will put IAF under pressure because they will know that PAF will be able to go deep and hit them hard undetected in their previously safe places during war. :pakistan:

It requires the amount of money, we don't have.

WantChinaTimes is a Taiwanese tabloid newspaper. Of course they will make up rubbish to mock the mainland.

Why would China export the J-20? It's like the F-22 Raptor; advance, dangerous, and exporting it means the J-20 will fall into enemy hands.

J20 is an airframe , it do not have proper avionics, radar and engine to be called as 5th generation fighter. The Biggest dilemma are canards, a low observability aircraft is not meant to have canards, which is fishy.

Its radar has more T/R modules than the F-22's AN/APG-77, its engine will have 180 kN of thrust, which also outclasses those on the F-22, and its canards will remain stationary during BVR combat which means they will simply act as another pair of airfoils and therefore will not contribute to RCS.

Every prototype aircraft is an "airframe" until they reach more mature stages of testing via incrementation.

All i know is J20 is far superior than any fighters IAF has in its inventory.

Very hard for an Indian to understand. In their mind, China should be in the same level with India which had been proved wrong in 1962.

Its radar has more T/R modules than the F-22's AN/APG-77,...
More T/R modules does not automatically equate to superiority. It depends on manufacturing quality and more important -- supporting software.

Does not automatically equate to superiority. Even if the J-20's engines will enable it to fly faster than the F-22, there are plenty of aircrafts that can fly faster than the F-22 or even the F-16 but are inferior to both overall.

...and its canards will remain stationary during BVR combat which means they will simply act as another pair of airfoils and therefore will not contribute to RCS.
Utter BS. More 'Chinese physics'. If there is a structure, that structure will contribute to final RCS.

More number of T/R modules do not mean Radar is superior. AESA also depends on Power and algorithms.

You have not even field a normal engine and you are talking about 180KN thrust engine yet to be developed.

Canards are meant to increase the RCS and J20 has a disadvantage here.
