Look, it's a CGI. The real design won't be finalized until we see the photos. It's rumored that 2 prototypes have been already built.

The design reports say that the J-16 will have DSI intakes.

It will be a bigt deal NOT to put an AESA on the J-16.

AESA is an automatic inclusion for all PLAAF fighters beyond and including the 4.5-generation J-11B.

A plane cannot be called 4.5-5th generation if it doesn't have AESA radar.
